The effect of charge on Zn tetra morpholine porphyrin conjugated to folic acid-nitrogen doped graphene quantum dots for photodynamic therapy studies.

Zinc tetra morpholine porphyrin (complex 2), and its quaternized derivative (complex 3) were synthesized and conjugated to folic acid decorated nitrogen doped graphene quantum dots (FA-NGQDs) through π-π stacking to study their photodynamic therapy (PDT) efficacy. Photophysiochemical properties of complexes 2, 3, and their conjugates (2-FA-NGQDs, 3-FA-NGQDs) were studied. It was found that complex 3 had higher ϕ of 0.56 compared to complex 2 with ϕ of 0.24, and respective composites: 3-FA-NGQDs had higher ϕ compared to 2-FA-NGQDs. The PDT studies were conducted for nanoparticles (FA-NGQDs), complexes (2, 3), and respective composites (2-FA-NGQDs, and 3-FA-NGQDs) using MCF-7 breast cancer cell. Dark toxicity of all compounds was above 90% which is negligible. At a highest concentration of 40 µg/mL, 3-FA-NGQDs gave the lowest cell viability of 28% compared to all other conjugates and porphyrins alone.

The title compound, [CdBr(CHNO)], was synthesized upon complexation of 4-(2-aminoethyl)morpholine and cadmium(II) bromide tetra-hydrate at 303 K. It crystallizes as a centrosymmetric dimer, with one cadmium atom, two bromine atoms and one ,-bidentate 4-(2-aminoethyl)morpholine ligand in the asymmetric unit. The title coordination compound, [Cd(CHO)(CHNO)]·4HO, was synthesized by mixing 2 moles of 4-(2-amino-eth-yl)morpholine and 1 mole of cadmium acetate in double-distilled water. The Cd atom is octa-hedrally coord-inated by two ,'-bidentate ligands [4-(2-amino-eth-yl)morpholine] and two -located acetate mol-ecules. The Cd atom is located on a center of inversion, whereas the 4-(2-amino-eth-yl)morpholine and four water mol-ecules are adjacent to the acetate mol-ecules.

Two new heterocyclic 1,2,3-triazenes were synthesized by diazo-tation of 3-amino-pyridine following respectively by coupling with morpholine or 1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline. 4-[(Pyridin-3-yl)diazen-yl]morpholine (), CHNO, has monoclinic 2/ symmetry at 100 K, while 1-[(pyridin-3-yl)diazen-yl]-1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline (), CHN, has monoclinic 2/ symmetry at 100 K. These 1,2,3-triazene derivatives were synthesized by the organic medium method by coupling reactions of 3-amino-pyridine with morpholine and 1,2,3,4-tetra-hydro-quinoline, respectively, and characterized by H NMR, C NMR, IR, mass spectrometry, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
