Using an open-cage C derivative possessing an orifice designed on the basis of computational studies, we have experimentally demonstrated the quantitative encapsulation of HO as well as effective conversion into HO@C in an overall yield remarkably higher than the previously reported methods by 2-5 times.

An independent metering system (IMS) realizes the decoupling of the meter-in and meter-out orifices. The energy efficiency of the hydraulic system can be effectively improved by switching between different operational modes. However, the tracking accuracy of the IMS mode-switching system is difficult to ensure, which can easily lead to instability in the hydraulic system.

Introduction: Traditional access cavity preparation involves removing the roof of the pulp chamber and smoothing the dentin bulges at the root canal orifice, thereby creating straight-line access. However, this may damage more healthy dental tissue and reduce the tooth's fracture resistance. This case series presents a novel minimally invasive endodontic protocol for one maxillary canine and four mandibular premolars, which required root canal therapy due to labial/buccal cervical decay that caused pulpitis or periapical periodontitis.

Aortic valve replacements, both surgical and transcatheter, are nowadays widely employed treatments. Although clinically effective, these procedures are correlated with potentially severe clinical complications which can be associated with the non-physiological haemodynamics that they establish. In this work, the fluid dynamics changes produced by surgical and transcatheter aortic valve replacements are analysed and compared with an ideal healthy native valve configuration, employing advanced fluid-structure interaction (FSI) simulations.

A 54-year-old woman was referred to our hospital because of abnormal colonoscopic findings, including a submucosal protuberance at the appendiceal root. A biopsy showed no malignant findings. Computed tomography revealed a 20-mm cystic lesion with thick walls at the appendiceal root, suggestive of an appendiceal mucocele.

Objective: To determine procedural feasibility, safety, and short-term efficacy in dogs with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR) undergoing transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) with a canine-specific device.
Design: Prospective, single-arm (uncontrolled), single-institution clinical feasibility study.
Animals: Fifty client-owned dogs with severe degenerative MR operated over a 28-month period.
