The low cost and ecological compatibility of green technology makes it superior to chemical approaches in the generation of metal nanoparticles. The current study shows the use of cranberry fruit extract in the environmentally friendly green production of palladium nanoparticles. It is well known that the fruit extract from cranberries has a rich phytochemical composition that makes it a useful bio reducing agent for the formation of PdNPs.

Thyroid cancer, as one of the most common endocrine cancers, has seen a surge in incidence in recent years. This is most likely due to the lack of specificity and accuracy of its traditional diagnostic modalities, leading to the overdiagnosis of thyroid nodules. Although there are several treatment options available, they are limited to surgery and I radiation therapy that come with significant side effects and hence cannot meet the treatment needs of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma with very high malignancy.

The unique properties of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) as an effective ligand for palladium catalytic centers have recently found much attention. In this work, FeO nanoparticle supported palladium(II)-N-heterocyclic carbene catalyst was successfully designed, synthesized and characterized by various methods. The activity of the catalyst was evaluated in the Mizoroki-Heck cross-coupling reaction in which the desired products were obtained in high yield in HO as a green solvent.

The development of green, economical and sustainable chemical processes is one of the primary challenges in organic synthesis. Herein, we report an efficient and heterogeneous palladium-catalyzed sulfonylation of vinyl cyclic carbonates with sodium sulfinates decarboxylative cross-coupling. Both aliphatic and aromatic sulfinate salts react with various vinyl cyclic carbonates to deliver the desired allylic sulfones featuring tri- and even tetrasubstituted olefin scaffolds in high yields with excellent selectivity.
