Clinico-morphological tests for the estimation of neutrophil granulocyte function were compared by their reproducibility, reliability and availability for standard clinical laboratories, and the results were analysed. Lysosomal-cationic test was offered for clinical practice, as it gives qualitative and quantitative assessment of the phagocytosis process, allows prediction of complications before their clinical onset, performance of rapid evaluation of the therapy used, reveals shifts in the level of non-specific resistance of the body. Methods of application of lysosomal-cationic test in the pathoanatomic practice have been developed for the study of intravital biopsy samples and surgical material.

Inhibition of neutrophilic granulocyte metabolism under the effect of semiconductor quantum points was demonstrated. The status of the oxidative system was evaluated by the NBT test, nonoxidative status by the lysosomal cationic test. It was found that quantum points in a dose of 0.

The results of NBT test correlated with the index of phagocytosis completeness in only 43% of 21 clinically healthy volunteers. The level of the lysosomal-cationic test was significantly reduced only if the phagocytosis completeness index was markedly decreased. The latter is an integral value reflecting the bactericidal activity of granulocytes.

The authors come to a conclusion that such measurements may be helpful in assessment of adaptive potential of the body in coronary patients.
