Aiming at solving the issue of wastewater purification, this work synthesized NH-MIL-88B (Fe In ) photocatalysts by a simple one-pot method, which was employed for photocatalytic reduction of Cr(vi) and oxidation of TC-HCl. Compared with traditional NH-MIL-88B (Fe) photocatalysts, NH-MIL-88B (FeIn) displayed excellent photocatalytic performance; the photocatalytic redox rate for Cr(vi) and TC-HCl reached 86.83% and 72.05%, respectively. The good photocatalytic performance might be attributed to the metal-to-metal charge transition (MMCT) between Fe-O clusters and In-O clusters formed by doping In(iii) into NH-MIL-88B (Fe), which provides effective active sites for the photocatalytic reduction and oxidation routes. Besides, the synergistic effect of the ligand-to-metal charge transition (LMCT) and MMCT expands the separation and transfer of photogenerated carriers and inhibits the recombination of electron-hole pairs, thus effectively improving the photocatalytic performance. Therefore, this work could provide a new method for the construction of mixed metal MOFs for the photocatalytic degradation of pollutants.

This research highlights a sustainable approach for the design and synthesis of a magnetic nickel ferrite (NiFeO) catalyst reutilizing industrial waste, specifically iron ore tailing and Raney nickel catalyst processing waste, by simple co-precipitation method. Transforming waste materials into high-performance catalysts, this study aligns with the principles of a circular economy, addressing both environmental waste and pollution. Structural characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and microscopic (FESEM and TEM) revealed the formation of well crystalline nano ferrite with NiFeO nanoparticles with cubic spinel structure.

Photocatalytic conversion has emerged as a promising strategy for harnessing renewable solar energy in the valorization of plastic waste. However, research on the photocatalytic transformation of plastics into valuable nitrogen-containing chemicals remains limited. In this study, we present a visible-light-driven pathway for the conversion of polylactic acid (PLA) into alanine under mild conditions.

The photocatalytic nonoxidative coupling of methane (PNOCM) offers a promising route to synthesize valuable C2+ hydrocarbons while minimizing side reactions. Oxide-based photocatalysts have been predominant in this field, but suffering from limited conversion rates, selectivity, and durability due to poor C-C coupling as well as overoxidation of CH4 by lattice oxygen. Here, we introduce an advancement in PNOCM for methane conversion into ethane and propane using GaN, one of the most produced semiconductors, together with trace amounts of metallic cobalt clusters (0.

Methane, the major component of natural and shale gas, is a significant carbon source for chemical synthesis. The direct partial oxidation of methane to liquid oxygenates under mild conditions is an attractive pathway, but the molecule's inertness makes it challenging to achieve simultaneously high conversion and high selectivity towards a single target product. This difficulty is amplified when aiming for more valuable products that require C-C coupling.

S-scheme heterojunction is an effective tactic to improve photocatalytic property. But few studies on constructing heterojunction with BiOBr and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are available. Herein, a novel series of COF-TpTt@BiOBr S-scheme heterojunctions with oxygen vacancies (OVs) were constructed via solvothermal method.
