As common psychotropic drugs, ketamine (KET) and amphetamine (AMP) are often consumed by drug users at the same time, which seriously threatens people's health. Therefore, the study of simultaneous detection methods for KET and AMP is imperative. In this study, a novel method for the simultaneous detection of KET and AMP in serum was established on the basis of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). The antibodies were attached on Au@Ag core-shell nanoparticles embedded with different Raman reporters as the detection substrates. The labelled antigens KET-BSA and AMP-BSA were linked to carboxyl magnetic beads, and by adopting the principle of competitive immunoassay, the quantitative detections of ketamine and amphetamine were realized at the same time by detecting the Raman signals at different characteristic peaks on the magnetic beads. A good correlation was shown between ketamine and amphetamine and Raman signal response values were in the concentration range of 0-60 ng mL and 0-200 ng mL, and the limits of detection were 1.64 and 2.44 ng mL. This method had the advantages of simple, rapid operation, and high sensitivity, and can realise double indicator simultaneous detection, which provided a more favorable scientific basis for preventing or reducing drug abuse, and identifying and monitoring drug users.

Purpose: Age stratification influences the clinicopathological features and survival outcomes of breast cancer. We aimed to understand the effect of age on gene variants in young Chinese women with breast cancer compared with those from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).

Methods: Enrolled patients ≤ 40 years old (N = 370) underwent germline or somatic genetic testing using a 32-gene hereditary cancer panel at Fujian Union Hospital.

Cognitive load stimulates neural activity, essential for understanding the brain's response to stress-inducing stimuli or mental strain. This study examines the feasibility of evaluating cognitive load by extracting, selection, and classifying features from electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. We employed robust local mean decomposition (R-LMD) to decompose EEG data from each channel, recorded over a four-second period, into five modes.

The simultaneous detection and removal of Ag from drinking water was crucial for preventing human health, while it was also extremely challenging due to bifunctional materials that combine both Ag adsorption and detection functions rarely being explored. In this study, a benzotrithiophene-based covalent organic framework (TAPA-BTT) was synthesized and applied to detect and remove Ag. TAPA-BTT exhibited high crystallinity, a large specific surface area, and good thermal stability.

Epinephrine (Ep) is an important neurotransmitter, which plays an important role in the nervous system and glycogen metabolism of living organisms. Hence, a novel NCQDs/FeCoFe-PBA composite with FeCoFe-Prussian blue analogues (PBA) as the core and nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCQDs) as the shell was constructed by a one-pot hydrothermal method, and it was used for the efficient detection of Ep. As a good electroactive material, NCQDs in the composite not only improved the weak conductivity of FeCoFe-PBA, but also limited the self-aggregation of FeCoFe-PBA, and formed a uniform shell on FeCoFe-PBA.

Purpose: The incidence of vascular dementia (VaD), as one of the main types of dementia in old age, has been increasing year by year, and exploring its pathogenesis and seeking practical and effective treatment methods are undoubtedly the key to solving this problem. Phosphoglycerate translocase 5 (PGAM5), as a crossroads of multiple signaling pathways, can lead to mitochondrial fission, which in turn triggers the onset and development of necroptosis, and thus PGAM5 may be a novel target for the prevention and treatment of vascular dementia.

Methods: Animal model of vascular dementia was established by Two-vessel occlusion (2-VO) method, and cellular model of vascular dementia was established by oxygen glucose deprivation (OGD) method.
