The purpose of the present study was to assess performance and morphological acute responses to the tri-set (TRI) resistance-training system. In a random order, 18 subjects (years: 30.0 ± 5.6; weight: 81.8 ± 13.4 kg; height: 173 ± 6.2 cm; RT experience: 4.6 ± 1.7 years) performed 3 exercises targeting the pectoralis major muscle in two different experimental conditions: traditional system (TRAD) and TRI. The TRAD protocol referred to the completion of a single exercise set followed by a rest period. For the TRI protocol, one set of each exercise was performed sequentially with a minimal rest interval afforded (< 10 seconds). Both protocols were performed in 3 sets of 10RM. Pectoralis major muscle swelling (PM), volume load (VL), internal training load (ITL) and training efficiency (TE) were calculated and compared between both protocols. Despite the low VL (-19.3%; < 0.001), larger values of PM (104.7%; < 0.001), ITL (24.3%; < 0.001) and TE (56.0%; < 0.001) were observed during TRI compared to TRAD condition. In conclusion, the adoption of a TRI training protocol may induce distinct performance and morphological acute responses compared to TRAD, suggesting that resistance-trained subjects may experience a higher muscle swelling and intensity of effort with short time commitment when performing TRI system.

Juvenile dermatomyositis with emphasized vasculopathy is rare, but the most severe form of the disease, with a poor prognosis with relapsing and chronic course or, in some cases, lethal outcome. We present a case of a 19-year-old Caucasian female, who developed severe acute juvenile dermatomyositis with emphasized multisystem vasculopathy, including retinal vasculopathy and maculopathy (cotton-wool spots, retinal hemorrhages, macular edema) at the age of 8. Due to no response to standard treatment protocols and rapid worsening of clinical symptoms and laboratory findings, a TNF inhibitor (infliximab) was introduced after the third week of treatment resulting in complete normalisation of muscle enzyme levels and complete resolution of eye changes within the next 2 weeks with a gradual general recovery.

Introduction: Low-grade myofibroblastic sarcoma (LGMS) is an atypical and extremely infrequent type of tumor, primary mass being usually present in subcutaneous and soft tissue. Bony involvement is very rare. It has a very high chance of recurrence locally due to its aggressive biological behavior, metastasis in other parts of body is rarely seen.

The nutritional status of fish is essential for its health, experimental studies, and aquaculture practices. The current study investigated the impact of food deprivation on biochemical parameters, histology of skin, gill, and kidney tissues, and ultrastructure of gills in Clarias batrachus. Fish were subjected to food deprivation for 2, 7, and 15 days resulting in (a) significant increase in plasma cortisol levels, (b) no significant changes in plasma osmolality and plasma glucose content, and (c) significant decrease in liver and muscle glycogen contents.

Introduction: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a common pediatric orbital malignancy but is extremely rare in adults. This study assesses clinical and radiographic features, management, and outcomes in adult orbital RMS patients with comparison to pediatric patients.
Methods: A retrospective chart review from 2000-2023 at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute was conducted evaluating patients aged 0 to 100-years-old with biopsy-confirmed orbital RMS.
