AI Article Synopsis

  • Mercury (Hg) is a toxic heavy metal that poses risks to both the environment and human health, highlighting the need for effective detection methods.
  • Researchers developed a simple fluorescent probe called HCDC, which shows high sensitivity, rapid response, and excellent solubility for detecting Hg.
  • The probe achieved significant fluorescent enhancement in the presence of Hg and hydrogen peroxide, allowing for precise measurement of Hg concentrations in real water samples.

Article Abstract

Mercury (Hg) is one of the major toxic heavy metals, harmful to the environment and human health. Thus, it is significantly important to find an easy and quick method to detect Hg. In this study, we designed and synthesized a simple fluorescent probe with excellent properties, such as high sensitivity and selectivity, rapid response, and outstanding water solubility. When Hg (5 μM) was added to the probe solution, it exhibited a very large fluorescent enhancement (about 350-fold stronger than the free probe) with the help of hydrogen peroxide (HO). Probe HCDC could quantitatively detect Hg in the range of 0-10 μM using the fluorescence spectroscopy method and the detection limit was measured to be about 0.3 nM (based on a 3/slope). Analytical application was also studied, and the probe HCDC exhibited excellent response to Hg with the addition of HO in real water samples. So, our proposed probe HCDC provided a practical and promising method for determining Hg in the environment.

Introduction: Supra-clinical doses of clonidine appear beneficial in experimental sepsis, but there is limited understanding of the effects of clonidine at clinically relevant doses.

Methods: In conscious sheep, with implanted renal and pulmonary artery flow probes, sepsis was induced by infusion of live Escherichia coli. At 24 h, a high clinical dose of clonidine (HCDC) [1.

Xiyuan Hospital, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing 100091.

Objective: To probe into the effect of Huancongdan capsule (HCDC) on the vascular dementia (VD) related factors, including lipoprotein, apolipoprotein (apo) and serum immunoglobulin.

Methods: Fifty-two patients of VD were divided into the HCDC group (27 patients, treated with HCDC) and the control group (25 patients, treated with Naofukang). Changes of related parameters were observed.
