Background: There have been no detailed descriptions of infants born to mothers treated for drug resistant TB in pregnancy. Critical case history assessment is important to identify risks and guide clinical practice.
Methods: In a cohort of pregnant women with multidrug or rifampicin resistant (MDR/RR)-TB enrolled between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2022, we followed mother-infant pairs until the infant was 12 months old.

Silico-Tuberculosis (silico-TB) is a severe combination of tuberculosis and silicosis, caused by occupational exposure to fine crystalline silica dust, which has become a global health concern. This comprehensive review compiles the updated knowledge regarding pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, important diagnostic techniques, treatment aspects, and challenges in understanding silico-TB. The review compiles the disease's history and epidemiology, highlighting a lack of data owing to poor monitoring and healthcare particularly in low- and middle-income countries like India.

Intracellular bacteria can multiply inside host cells and manipulate their biology, and the efficacy of traditional antibiotic drug therapy for intracellular bacteria is limited by inadequate drug accumulation. Fighting against these stealthy bacteria has been a long-standing challenge. Here, a system of stimuli-responsive lactoferrin (Lf) nanoparticles is prepared using protein self-assembly technology to deliver broad-spectrum antibiotic rifampicin (Rif) (Rif@Lf NPs) for enhanced infection therapy through targeted elimination of intracellular bacteria.

Multidrug -resistant tuberculosis (MDRTB) is a serious threat to mankind. India has the highest number of MDRTB cases, although majority remain undiagnosed due to inadequate diagnostic infrastructure, leading to increased community transmission and mortality. This one-year observational retrospective study highlighted the effectiveness of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP) for prompt detection of drug-resistant TB by GeneXpert MTB/RIF assay and revealed its associated clinico-epidemiological factors.
