We report the syntheses and structures of two new copper(ii)-containing tungstotellurates(vi) Na[Te WOCu(HO)]·7HO (TeWCu) and Na[TeWOCu(NHCHCO)]·6HO (TeWCu). The two compounds were synthesized by a simple one-pot method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), powder XRD, FT-IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis in the solid state. Furthermore, their catalytic properties for the selective oxidation of thioethers were also studied systematically. The catalytic experiment results indicate that the tungstotellurate(vi) TeWCu is an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the selective oxidation of thioethers to sulfoxides or sulfones by an HO oxidant at room temperature. Under the ambient conditions, TeWCu can convert 99% of methyl(phenyl)sulfane to sulfoxides or sulfones with 96% or 99% selectivity, respectively, and the utilization rate of HO is up to 80%. Furthermore, TeWCu as a heterogeneous catalyst is stable in the reaction and could be reused at least five cycles with conserved activity.

Direct cross-coupling reactions between two similar unactivated partners are challenging but constitute a powerful strategy for the creation of new carbon-carbon bonds in organic synthesis. [4]Dendralenes are a class of acyclic branched conjugated oligoenes with great synthetic potential for the rapid generation of structural complexity, yet the chemistry of [4]dendralenes remains an unexplored field due to their limited accessibility. Herein, we report a highly selective palladium-catalyzed oxidative cross-coupling of two allenes with the presence of a directing olefin in one of the allenes, enabling the facile synthesis of a broad range of functionalized [4]dendralenes in a convergent modular manner.

The choices of matrices and protocols for sample deposition are critical factors, which impact each other in the matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry imaging (MSI). Previous reports on MALDI MS matrices have only compared their performances in terms of their MS signal intensities and provided optical microphotos or MALDI MS images of sample spots but typically lacked quantitative evaluation. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop a multivariate model to evaluate the performance of different combinations of matrices and sample protocols.

The design of electrically conductive textiles appears to be a promising approach to combat the existing challenge of deaths caused by severe cold climates around the globe. However, reports on the scalable fabrication of tolerant conductive textiles maintaining a low electrical resistance with an ability for unperturbed and prolonged performance are scarce. Here, a breathable and wrappable water-repellent conductive textile (water-repellent CT) with electrothermal and photothermal conversion abilities at low external voltage and in weak solar light is introduced, respectively.
