A recent case report provided a patient scenario, wherein, a 39-year-old male patient presented with occasional palpitations, headache, and fever. Evaluation of tumor markers did not show any abnormal results. Subsequently, a computed tomography (CT) scan was undertaken, and its findings were affirmative of thymic cancer.

To develop a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) method for the classification of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) cardiac MRI images into myocardial infarction (MI), myocarditis, and healthy classes using a fine-tuned VGG16 model hybridized with multi-layer perceptron (MLP) (VGG16-MLP) and assess our model's performance in comparison to various pre-trained base models and MRI readers. This study included 361 LGE images for MI, 222 for myocarditis, and 254 for the healthy class. The left ventricle was extracted automatically using a U-net segmentation model on LGE images.

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) allows for analysis of cardiac function and myocardial tissue characterization. Increased left ventricular mass (LVM) is an independent predictor of cardiovascular events; however, the diagnosis of left ventricular hypertrophy and its prognostic value strongly depend on the LVM indexation method. Evaluation of the quantity and distribution of late gadolinium enhancement assists in clinical decisions on diagnosis, cardiovascular assessment, and interventions, including the placement of cardiac implantable electronic devices and the choice of an optimal procedural approach.

Background: Reports of nonrheumatic streptococcal pharyngitis associated myocarditis (SPAM) are rare, and its incidence, pathophysiology, and clinical features remain unclear. We evaluated the clinical course and outcome of patients diagnosed with nonrheumatic SPAM, with a particular focus on differentiating it from other etiologies of myocarditis.
Methods: Seventy-nine consecutive individuals (age 32±9 years, 71 men) with clinically diagnosed SPAM were evaluated.

Background: The mitroaortic intervalvular fibrosa is an avascular structure near the left ventricular outflow tract, between the mitral and aortic valves. Mitroaortic intervalvular fibrosa complications, such as tamponade, hemopericardium, and abscesses, are rare and often diagnosed postmortem. On the other hand, the COVID-19 pandemic notably impacted pediatric patients with congenital heart diseases, who frequently presented cardiac complications including arrhythmias, elevated troponins, myocarditis, and heart failure.
