Iron is an important metal material that is crucial to social and national economic development. In order to understand iron's material flow, energy flow, and value flow in China, a composite flow framework is here established. Based on this framework, the concept of price is introduced, and China is taken as an example to study the composite flow of iron in 2018. The results showed the following. First, as iron moved down the industrial chain, its material flow decreased gradually, while the price continued to rise. Second, the annual loss of raw materials from iron processing was 150-200 million tons, and scrap iron had great potential for secondary utilization. Third, China had a trade deficit in terms of importing raw materials and exporting products, but it also had a trade surplus in trade volume. Finally, China imported iron-containing goods at high prices but exported iron-containing goods at low prices. This was due to the lack of high-end science and technology, which made China less competitive in the international market.

The development and modification of grouting materials constitute crucial factors influencing the effectiveness of grouting. Given the pivotal role of water in the hydration of cement-based composite materials and construction processes, this study proposes an exploratory approach using green, economical magnetized water technology to enhance the performance of cement grouts. The research systematically investigates the effects of magnetized water on the fundamental grouting properties (stability, rheological behavior, and stone body strength) of cement grouts, prepared under varying magnetization conditions (including magnetic intensity, water flow speed, and cycle times).

Boron nitride (BN), renowned for its exceptional optoelectrical properties, mechanical robustness, and thermal stability, has emerged as a promising two-dimensional (2D) material. Reinforcing AZ80 magnesium alloy with BN can significantly enhance its mechanical properties. To investigate and predict this enhancement during hot deformation, we introduce two independent modeling approaches a modified Johnson-Cook (J-C) constitutive model and an Artificial Neural Network (ANN).

Background: To investigate the physiological clearance of circulating Aβ by the liver and its role in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Method: Immunostaining, near-infrared imaging, and flow cytometry were used to explore the physiological clearance of Aβ by the liver and the impact of aging on Aβ clearance. Liver-specific LRP-1 knockdown and functional LRP-1 minigene (mLRP-1) expression in mice with AD were used to explore the effects of hepatic Aβ clearance on AD pathogenesis and treatment.

Background: With the emerging role of the blood biomarkers in Alzheimer's Disease (AD) clinical practice and trials, it is crucial to identify and address factors influencing the concentrations of these biomarkers in circulation for enhanced clinical utility. We aim to assess the impact of lung function on plasma AD biomarker levels and elucidate the relationship between lung function and Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD).
Method: We used the Peak Expiratory Flow (PEF), plasma biomarkers of AD (Amyloid beta 42/40 (Aβ42/40) ratio, phosphorylated-tau181 (p-tau181), Neurofilament light chain (NfL) and Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)) measured in the Health and Retirement Study (HRS) 2016 survey participants (n = 3801) and incident dementia (n = 142) over 4 years.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia which results in debilitating memory loss as the disease advances. However, among older adults with AD, some may experience rapid cognitive decline while others may maintain a stable cognitive status for years. In addition to the amyloid plaques, tau tangles, and neuronal inflammation characteristic of AD, there is strong evidence of dysregulation in the peripheral immune system, including decreased naïve T cells and increased memory T cells among older adults with AD.
