remains an important human pathogen of concern, with mortality rates surpassing 30% in the case of severe systemic infections. Distinguishing methicillin-susceptible from methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is fundamental for therapeutic choices. A crucial emerging concept in the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections is the availability of various approved agents with anti-MRSA activity, which allow a personalized approach based on the characteristics of any given patient while at the same time remaining in line with high certainty efficacy evidence from large randomized controlled trials. Regarding the treatment of bloodstream infections (BSI), interesting aspects that may become relevant in the near future are the presence of both old and novel agents in phase-2 or phase-3 of clinical development for this indication, and the pressing need for high certainty evidence to guide the possible use of combination therapy in specific categories or phenotypes of patients with complicated MRSA BSI.

Introduction: Bacterial infection, a complex wound microenvironment, and a persistent inflammatory response in acute wounds can result in delayed healing and abnormal scar formation, thereby compromising the normal function and aesthetic appearance of skin tissue. This issue represents one of the most challenging problems in clinical practice. This study aims to develop a hydrogel dressing specifically designed for the treatment of acute wounds, providing immediate and effective protection for the affected areas.

Introduction: Wound treatment is a significant health burden in any healthcare system, which requires proper management to minimize pain and prevent bacterial infections that can complicate the wound healing process.
Rationale: There is a need to develop innovative therapies to accelerate wound healing cost-effectively. Herein, two polymer-based nanofibrous systems were developed using poly-lactic-co-glycolic-acid (PLGA) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) loaded with a combination of an antibiotic (Fusidic acid, FA) and a local anesthetic (Lidocaine, LDC) via electrospinning technique for an expedited healing process by preventing bacterial infections while reducing the pain sensation.

Melanonychia describes black pigmentation of the nail plate that results from either melanocyte activation (such as infections, local inflammatory disorders, local trauma affecting the nail plate, numerous systemic conditions, and medications) or melanocyte hyperplasia (such as benign neoplasms or malignant tumors) or blood (resulting from a trauma-associated subungual hematoma). The black dyschromia may include not only the nail plate but also the proximal nailfold. The Hutchinson sign refers to black discoloration of both the proximal nailfold and adjacent nail plate when the underlying pigmented lesion is a malignant melanoma.

Although human metapneumovirus(hMPV) infection can induce severe symptoms in older adults or immunocompromised patients, it usually causes mild symptoms in young immunocompetent adults. The prevalence of hMPV infectious disease is highest during the late winter and early summer. We report a hypoxemic case of hMPV infection in a young immunocompetent man that occurred in the first autumn after the reclassification of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) from Class 2 to Class 5.
