A simple one-step approach was employed to fabricate novel BiOI nanosheets and mesoporous BiOI single-crystal nanosheets. The formation mechanism of the as-prepared two-dimensional mesoporous sheet-like structure and photocatalytic activities were systematically discussed. The stripping effect of I vapor generated in the calcination process was concluded to be responsible for the formation of this two-dimensional mesoporous structure. Moreover, relying on this advantage, BiOI displayed excellent activities in the degradation of RhB and salicylic acid under visible light irradiation.

As an environment-friendly material, graphene oxide nanosheet can effectively improve the polishing surface quality of single crystal diamond workpieces. However, the lubricating and chemical effects of graphene oxide nanosheets have an uncertain impact on the polishing material removal rate. In this paper, the graphene oxide-enhanced hybrid slurry was prepared with good stability.

The synthesis of a novel bidentate ligand-protected copper nanocluster via a solid-state strategy is reported. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis result reveals that the copper nanocluster features an octahedral core (Cu) coordinated by six ligands. Noncovalent interactions (C-Hπ and ππ) exist between the copper nanoclusters.

The remarkable potential of two-dimensional (2D) materials in sustaining Moore's law has sparked a research frenzy. Extensive efforts have been made in the research of utilizing 2D semiconductors as channel materials in field-effect transistors. However, the next generation of integrated devices requires the integration of gate dielectrics with wider bandgaps and higher dielectric constants.

Chiral ionic organic single-crystal and its exfoliated two-dimensional nanosheets with enhanced enantioseparation.

A chiral ionic organic single-crystal (CIOC) was prepared for the first time through ionic self-assembly using bipyridium chiral ionic liquid (CIL) and 4,4'-biphenyldisulfonic acid (BDA). The CIOC can be ultrasonically exfoliated to produce two-dimensional nanosheets (2D-NSs). The 2D-NSs presented enhanced enantioseparation compared to the CIOC and CIL when used as gas chromatography stationary phase, which may be due to the exfoliated 2D-NSs exhibiting greater exposure of functional groups.

Application of precursor with ultra-small particle size and uniform particle distribution for ultra-high nickel single-crystal cathode materials by coprecipitation method.

Ultra-high nickel single-crystal cathode materials have become the most promising for lithium-ion batteries. However, the preparation of ultra-high nickel single-crystal precursors by a continuous coprecipitation method has the disadvantages of large particle size, wide distribution, poor morphology. The extent of the inhomogeneous reactions can be more severe in single-crystal cathodes with larger particle size.
