Decellularized adipose-derived matrix (DAM) can promote adipogenic differentiation and adipose tissue remodeling, but the biological impact of tissue origin on DAM remains unknown. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of tissue origins on the adipogenic capacity of the decellularized matrix by comparing the cellular and tissue responses of DAM versus acellular dermal matrix (ADM). The response of adipose-derived stem/stromal cells (ADSCs) to DAM and ADM was characterized by proliferation and differentiation. The remodeling response was evaluated in the subcutaneous injection model of immunocompromised mice, using histology, protein expression, and transcriptome analysis. Both DAM and ADM exhibited excellent decellularization effects and cytocompatibility. In the absence of exogenous stimuli, DAM could induce adipogenic differentiation of ADSCs compared with ADM. In the animal model, the levels of PDGF, VEGF, and ACRP30 were higher in the DAM groups than in the ADM group, and more neovascularization and extensive adipose tissue remodeling were observed. The mRNA-seq analysis indicated that the DAM implant regulated tissue remodeling by modulating expression along with Hippo Signaling pathway in the early stage. Tissue origin can influence the biological response of the decellularized matrix. DAM can retain favorable tissue-specific characteristics after the decellularization process and have unique adipogenic effects and , which can be fully utilized for soft tissue repair and regeneration.

Despite advancements in engineered heart tissue (EHT), challenges persist in achieving accurate dimensional accuracy of scaffolds and maturing human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs), a primary source of functional cardiac cells. Drawing inspiration from cardiac muscle fiber arrangement, a three-dimensional (3D)-printed multi-layered microporous polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffold is created with interlayer angles set at 45° to replicate the precise structure of native cardiac tissue. Compared with the control group and 90° PCL scaffolds, the 45° PCL scaffolds exhibited superior biocompatibility for cell culture and improved hiPSC-CM maturation in calcium handling.

Tooth movement is a complex process involving the vascularization of the tissues, remodeling of the bone cells, and periodontal ligament fibroblasts under the hormonal and neuronal regulation mechanisms in response to mechanical force application. Therefore, it will inevitably impact periodontal tissues. Prolonged treatment can lead to adverse effects on teeth and periodontal tissues, prompting the development of various methods to reduce the length of orthodontic treatment.

Phoronida is a small group of marine animals, most of which are characterized by a long larval period and complex metamorphosis. As a result of metamorphosis, their body changes so much that their true anterior and posterior ends are very close to each other, and the intestine becomes long and U-shaped. Using histology and electron microscopy, we have shown that the elongation and change in shape of the digestive tract that occurs during metamorphosis in Phoronopsis harmeri larvae is accompanied by the formation of new parts and changes in ultrastructure.

Background: Skin innervation is very important for normal wound healing, and receptor activity-modifying protein 1 (RAMP1) has been reported to modulate calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor function and thus be a potential treatment target. This study aimed to elucidate the intricate regulatory effect of RAMP1 on skin fibroblast function, thereby addressing the existing knowledge gap in this area.
Methods: Immunohistochemical staining and immunofluorescence (IF) staining were used to measure the dynamic changes in the expression of RAMP1 and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) in skin wound tissue in mice.

Osmoregulation is essential for the survival of aquatic organisms, particularly teleost fish facing osmotic challenges in environments characterized by variable salinity. While the gills are known for ion exchange, the intestine's role in water and salt absorption is gaining attention. Here, we investigated the adaptive responses of the intestine to salinity stress in guppies (), observing significant morphological and transcriptomic alterations.
