Various 1,4-benzoxazin-3-one derivatives containing propanolamine groups have been shown to exhibit good antibacterial activity against pv (Psa), pv (Xac) and pv (Xoo). 1,4-benzoxazin-3-one 4n showed the best inhibitory effects against Psa, Xac and Xoo, exhibiting EC values of 4.95, 4.71 and 8.50 μg mL, respectively. These potencies were superior to the corresponding EC values of the commercial antibiotics bismerthiazol (BT, 89.10, and 116.90 μg mL) and thiodiazole copper (TC, 127.30, 82.73 and 87.50 μg mL). Treatment on the bacterial leaf blight of rice revealed that compound 4n displayed better curative (51%) and protective (48%) activities for reducing rice BLB than either BT (41%, 39%) or TC (43%, 41%). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging of Xoo that had been treated with 1,4-benzoxazin-3-one 4n (50-100 μg mL) revealed that the bacterial cells had experienced extensive cell wall damage, which is the likely cause of its antimicrobial activity and bacterial death.

To develop antibacterial agents with a novel mechanism of action, a series of sulfone compounds containing a 1,2,4-triazolo[4,3-]pyridine were designed and synthesized by progressive molecular structure optimization. The antibacterial activities of some derivatives against the four plant pathogens (), (), (), and () were evaluated. Among them, compound demonstrated significant antibacterial activities against , , and , with EC values of 1.

The rise of plant bacterial pathogens poses a significant threat to the yield and quality of essential food crops and cash crops globally. Our research introduced a versatile cationic AIE fluorescent probe for detecting and eliminating plant bacteria. With its unique aggregation-induced emission property, TBPD-6C can effectively detect plant bacteria by causing a fluorescence quenching effect and enables bacterial imaging under green fluorescence channels.

Taking inspiration from the use of natural product-derived bactericide candidates in drug discovery, a series of novel 9-aliphatic amine tryptanthrin derivatives were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for their biological activity against three plant bacteria. The majority of these compounds exhibited excellent antibacterial activity in vitro. Compound exhibited a significantly superior bacteriostatic effect against pv (), pv (), and pv () with final corrected EC values of 0.

In this paper, a series of derivatives were synthesized by introducing the pharmacophore pyrazole ring and piperazine ring into the structure of the natural product myricetin through an amide bond. The structures were determined using carbon spectrum and hydrogen spectrum high-resolution mass spectrometry. Biological activities of those compounds against bacteria, including (), () and () were tested.
