A series of MgYAlSiO:Dy,Eu phosphors were synthesized by the solid-state method. The luminescent properties and crystal structures of the MgYAlSiO:Dy,Eu phosphors were analyzed. The XRD results show that the synthesized MgYAlSiO:Dy,Eu phosphors are of pure phase. MgYAlSiO:Dy can emit blue and yellow light under 367 nm light excitation; when doped with Eu, there is an obvious energy transfer from Dy to Eu, and warm white light can be realized by adjusting the concentrations of Dy and Eu in MgYAlSiO. A warm white LED device was fabricated by combining MgYAlSiO:0.05Dy,0.07Eu and a UV LED chip (370 nm) under a voltage of 3.2 V and current of 5 mA, the characteristics of the white LED being CIE = (0.4071, 0.3944), CCT = 3500 K and CRI = 91.3.

Iridium is used in commercial light-emitting devices and in photocatalysis but is among the rarest stable chemical elements. Therefore, replacing iridium(III) in photoactive molecular complexes with abundant metals is of great interest. First-row transition metals generally tend to yield poorer luminescence behavior, and it remains difficult to obtain excited states with redox properties that exceed those of noble-metal-based photocatalysts.

Elevated temperatures can lead to reabsorption and color drift, compromising the quality of phosphor-converted white light-emitting diode (pc-WLED) devices. To ensure the performance of WLEDs under these conditions, it is essential to develop luminescent materials that maintain stable color. Consequently, there is a pressing need for single-phase white-emitting phosphors with robust chromatic stability.

Metal halides are widely applied in solid-state lighting (SSL), optoelectronic devices, information encryption, and near-infrared (NIR) detection due to their superior photoelectric properties and tunable emission. However, single-component phosphors that can be efficiently excited by light-emitting diode (LED) chips and cover both the visible (VIS) and NIR emission regions are still very rare. To address this issue, (TPA)ZnBr:Sn/Mn (TPA = [(CHCHCH)N]) phosphors were synthesized by using the solvent evaporation method.
