Malignant mesenchymal tumors of the female genital tract are uncommon gynecological cancers, particularly in the vagina. They are typically aggressive and often relapse, both locally and at distant sites. The treatment of choice for primary tumors is surgical excision as they are generally refractory to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. We describe the case of a vaginal leiomyosarcoma in a 43-year-old woman who presented with abnormal genital bleeding and discharge. The tumor was excised but recurred locally after just 11 months. It was removed by hysterectomy with double adnexectomy and partial vaginal excision.

Senescence is a non-proliferative, survival state that cancer cells can enter to escape therapy. In addition to soluble factors, senescence cells secrete extracellular vesicles (EVs), which are important mediators of intercellular communication. To explore the role of senescent cell-derived EVs (senEVs) in inflammatory responses to senescence, we developed an engraftment-based senescence model in wild-type mice and genetically blocked senEV release in vivo, without significantly affecting soluble mediators.

The synaptonemal complex (SC) is a protein-rich structure essential for meiotic recombination and faithful chromosome segregation. Acting like a zipper to paired homologous chromosomes during early prophase I, the complex is a symmetrical structure where central elements are connected on two sides by the transverse filaments to the chromatin-anchoring lateral elements. Despite being found in most major eukaryotic taxa implying a deeply conserved evolutionary origin, several components of the complex exhibit unusually high rates of sequence turnover.

Background: The rate at which atrial fibrillation (AF) patients experience a return of symptoms after catheter ablation is significant, and there are multiple risk factors involved. This research intends to perform a meta-analysis to explore the risk factors connected to the recurrence of AF in patients following catheter ablation.
Methods: The PubMed, Cochrane Library, WOS, Embase, SinoMed, CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP databases were explored for studies from January 1, 2000 to August 10, 2021, and research meeting the established inclusion requirements was chosen.

The ternary complex of PGRMC1-σ2R/TMEM97-LDLR has recently been discovered and plays a role in cholesterol transport. This study investigated whether individual components of that complex are prognostic breast cancer biomarkers and defined expression in established molecular subtypes. 4,463 invasive breast cancers were analyzed as a function of molecular and phenotypic markers, estimates of cellular proliferation, and recurrence-free survival.

Objective: Prolidase deficiency is a metabolic and immunological disorder that is inherited in an autosomal recessive manner. In prolidase deficiency, a broad spectrum of differences is observed in patients, ranging from asymptomatic to multisystem involvement. There is scarce information in the literature on the atypical features and immunophenotypes of this disease.
