Despite modest reserves of energy transition minerals (ETMs) like copper, nickel, and aluminium, European nations largely depend on imports, a dynamic often marred by financial uncertainties, price volatility, and geopolitical tensions. The purpose of this study is to investigate the response of extra-territorial ETM imports to the clean energy objectives of 24 European nations, taking into account financial stress, mineral price volatility, and geopolitical instability. We analyse monthly data from January 2005 to October 2022, using the quantiles via moments (QvM) and the linear models multiway fixed effects (LMFE) approaches to account for heterogeneity, spatial dependence, heteroscedasticity, and endogeneity in the data.

Introduction: EUS-guided fine-needle organoid creation (EUS-FNO) from pancreatic cancer (PC) has been increasingly important for precision medicine. The cost for pancreatic organoid creation is substantial and close to 2000 USD/specimen in our institution, and the specimen has to be processed immediately after tissue acquisition so the more passes and specimens, the higher cost of organoid creation will incur. To date, no prospective comparison trial has answered how many needle passes of EUS-FNO needed for a successful organoid creation.

Background: An accurate assessment of the evolution of GI endoscopy volumes is warranted to identify long-term trends and to help anticipate training, infrastructure and human resource needs. The main objective of this longitudinal study was to evaluate the evolution of GI endoscopy in France.
Methods: This retrospective study consisted of a cross-sectional analysis repeated each year from 2008 to 2018 using data from a national health database related to hospital admissions.

Amidst heightened global power rivalries, the geopolitical aspects of the energy transition are taking centre stage, with even liberal-minded countries growing wary about foreign investment in the energy sector and the dependencies created by global value chains of green technologies. Building on current debates on the 'geopoliticization' of foreign economic policies, this paper sets out a conceptual framework to assess the extent to which the energy transition is becoming geopoliticized in the European Union (EU) and its impact on international energy relations. Theoretically, the paper makes the case for considering geopoliticization as a missing link in the study of politicization and securitization in International Relations, allowing for a more fine-grained diagnosis of current trends and their likely evolution.

People's preferences for the utilitarian outcome in sacrificial moral dilemmas, where a larger group of individuals are saved at the cost of a few, have been argued to be influenced by various factors. Taking expected utility (EU) theory into consideration, we investigate whether the expected effectiveness of actions elucidate certain inconsistencies in moral judgments. Additionally, we also explore whether participants' role in the dilemma as the executor or a superior who merely makes a decision, which is carried out by a subordinate, influences judgments-a factor generally overlooked by classical EU models.
