Acute compartment syndrome is a surgical emergency that, if unrecognised, leads to tissue and muscle ischaemia, necrosis, multi-organ failure and even death. Gluteal compartment syndrome is a rare type of compartment syndrome that typically occurs as a sequela of trauma, and its presentation may be difficult to recognise. We describe a case of a patient who developed gluteal compartment syndrome following a prolonged renal surgery in lateral decubitus position. Our case report aims to raise clinicians' awareness to consideration of this rare syndrome in patients presenting with lower extremity or back pain after prolonged surgery.

Richter syndrome (RS), characterized by aggressive lymphoma arising from chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), presents a poor response to treatment and grim prognosis. To elucidate RS mechanisms, paired samples from a patient with DLBCL-RS were subjected to single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) sequencing. Over 10,000 cells were profiled via scRNA-seq, revealing the comprehensive B cell transformation in RS.

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of percutaneous prying combined with modified rotary reduction with needle in the treatment of supracondylar fracture of humerus in Gartland type Ⅳ children, and to evaluate the postoperative elbow joint function, the incidence of elbow varus deformity and the application prospect of this technique.
Methods: A total of 98 children diagnosed with Gartland type Ⅳ supracondylar humeral fractures between June 2020 and January 2023 were included in this study, comprising of 57 males and 41 females. The age ranged from 2 to 14 years old with an average of (6.

High-efficacy antiretroviral treatment (ART) has been a game-changer for HIV/AIDS pandemic, but incomplete CD4 T cell recovery and persistent chronic immune activation still affect HIV-suppressed people. Exceptional cases of HIV infection that naturally exhibit delayed disease progression provide invaluable insights into protective biological mechanisms with potential clinical application. Viremic non-progressors (VNPs) represent an extremely rare population of individuals with HIV, characterized by preservation of the CD4 T cell compartment despite persistent high levels of viral load (>10,000 copies/mL).

Background/aims: Elevated intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) can lead to intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and, in severe cases, abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) in patients with cirrhosis and ascites. Paracentesis reduces IAP and improves abdominal perfusion. Intra-abdominal hypertension can also trigger acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) in decompensated cirrhosis.
