Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) received emergency use authorization for the acute treatment of COVID-19. We are not aware of published data on their use in immunosuppressed people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS). We report 23 pwMS (mean age = 49 years, ocrelizumab ( = 19), fingolimod ( = 2), vaccinated with at least an initial series ( = 19)) who received mAb for acute COVID-19. Following mAb receipt, approximately half recovered in <7 days (48%). There were no adverse events or deaths. Use of mAb for pwMS treated with fingolimod or ocrelizumab was not observed to be harmful and is likely helpful for treatment of acute COVID-19.

Nowadays, the use of monoclonal antibodies to target angiogenic signalling pathways is common, but, unfortunately, the clinical activity of these agents is limited. Thus, the development of approaches targeting multiple pathways for anti-angiogenic effect will lead to increase the clinical benefit. For this purpose, oleuropein, hesperidin, piperine, proanthocyanidins and retinoic acid, which have previously been proven to be bioactive components, anti-angiogenic performances were experimentally tested in retinal pigment epithelial cells.

This study was aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of pembrolizumab with chemotherapy (pembrolizumab combination therapy) and compare it with standard-of-care platinum-based chemotherapy (chemotherapy alone) as a first-line treatment for metastatic nonsquamous NSCLC from the perspective of Taiwan's third-party-payer public health-care system. We used a partitioned survival model with an estimated time horizon of 10 years. The partitioned survival model uses Kaplan-Meier estimates of progression-free and overall survival from the KEYNOTE-189 clinical trial.

The combined use of tocilizumab (TCZ) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer treatment is gaining attention, but preclinical studies are lacking. Our study aims to investigate the synergistic anti-tumor effect of TCZ combined with ICIs and its role in treating immune-related adverse events (irAEs). The clinical significance of high interleukin-6 (IL-6) expression in tumor patients was analyzed from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.
