One of the longstanding puzzles of antimicrobial resistance is why the frequency of resistance persists at intermediate levels. Theoretical explanations for the lack of fixation of resistance include cryptic costs of resistance or negative frequency-dependence but are seldom explored experimentally. -lactamases, which detoxify penicillin-related antibiotics, have well-characterized frequency-dependent dynamics driven by cheating and cooperation.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of micromagnetic stimuli strength and frequency from thenetic(MagPen) on the rat right sciatic nerve. The nerve's response was measured by recording muscle activity and movement of the right hind limb.The MagPen was custom-built to be stably held over the sciatic nerve.

Although the effects of microwave exposure on the heart have gradually become the focus of domestic and foreign scholars, the biological effects caused by different doses and different frequency bands of exposure are still unclear. In this study, we will investigate the damaging effect of S-band and X-band microwave composite exposure on cardiac structure and function, as well as the pathophysiological significance of Cx43 in cardiac conduction dysfunction after exposure. We used S- and X-band radiation sources with the average power density of 5 and 10 mW/cm to expose Wistar rats to single or composite exposure.

Since information of antiviral drug oseltamivir on the anti-atrial fibrillation (AF) property is still limited, we assessed it using the canine paroxysmal AF model. Oseltamivir in doses of 3 and 30 mg/kg/10 min was intravenously infused to the isoflurane-anesthetized, chronic atrioventricular block dogs (n = 6) with monitoring hemodynamic and electrophysiological variables, in which AF was induced by 10 s of burst pacing on atrial septum. Oseltamivir decreased AF incidence and AF duration, and prolonged AF cycle length in a dose-dependent manner.
