Bakker et al. use Robinson et al.'s reconstruction of three species of vulture to illustrate how incorrect generation time estimates can yield inaccurate results, underscoring the importance of generation time specification for genetically based reconstructions, especially for comparisons and species of conservation concern.

Background: The iAide2 (Tokai) physical activity monitoring system includes diverse measurements and wireless features useful to researchers. The iAide2's sleep measurement capabilities have not been compared to validated sleep measurement standards in any published work.
Objective: We aimed to assess the iAide2's sleep duration and total sleep time (TST) measurement performance and perform calibration if needed.

Importance: Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) or its receptor (anti-CGRP mAbs) offer effective migraine-specific preventive treatment. However, concerns exist about their potential cardiovascular risks due to CGRP blockade.
Objective: To compare the incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) between Medicare beneficiaries with migraine who initiated anti-CGRP-mAbs vs onabotulinumtoxinA in the US.

Surgery for choledochal cysts (CDC) in children younger than 6 months is relatively rare. We report our experience and compare the results between Da Vinci robot-assisted hepaticojejunostomy (RAHJ) and laparoscopic-assisted hepaticojejunostomy (LAHJ) in children younger than 6 months to treat CDC. A retrospective study was conducted on all children under 6 months of age who underwent RAHJ or LAHJ at the Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, from July 2018 to November 2023.

Fibrillation of the amyloid beta (Aβ) peptide has often been associated with neurodegenerative pathologies such as Alzheimer's disease. In this study we examined the influence of several potential compositions of the lipid membrane on Aβ fibrillation by using liposomes as a basic model membrane. Firstly, it was revealed that Aβ fibrillation kinetics were enhanced and had the potential to occur at a faster rate on more fluid membranes compared to solid membranes.

Background: Weight loss after sleeve gastrectomy (SG) demonstrates significant diversity in the long term and the implicated mechanisms behind suboptimal clinical response (SCR) or recurrent weight gain (RWG) need to be scrutinized. This study retrospectively examines weight-loss trajectories, aiming to identify critical time points to optimize follow-up strategies and guide future prospective research.
Methods: This is a single-center, retrospective study of 104 patients that underwent SG.
