Herein, we design to synthesize a novel CuO/ZnO/kaolinite composite catalyst by co-precipitation method. The synthesized composite catalysts were labeled as 5CZK, 10CZK, 15CZK, and 20CZK which represent 5, 10, 15, and 20% of CuO, respectively, on ZnO/kaolinite. The photocatalyst samples were characterized with different instruments. Moreover, the methylene blue (MB) dye was used as a target organic pollutant and the degradation was evaluated under visible light irradiation. The highest performance for the degradation of MB was achieved by 10CZK catalyst and degrades 93% within 105 min. However, ZnO (Z), CuO/ZnO (CZ), 5CZK, 15CZK, and 20CZK composite catalysts, degrades 28, 66, 76, 71, and 68% of MB dye, respectively. The enhanced degradation efficiency of 10CZK composites catalyst could be due to the higher adsorption properties from metakaolinite and the light-responsive properties of the CuO/ZnO samples under visible light. Hence, the resulting composite catalyst could be applicable for environmental remediation.

The efficient degradation of SAs is a significant challenge for the treatment of wastewater. To address this, the FeS@BC was prepared by calcining a mixture of pyrite and biomass, and used to activate peroxydisulfate (PDS) to degrade sulfadiazine (SDZ). The effect of carbon sources (wheat straw, rice husk, and corn cob) on catalytic activity of FeS@BC were investigated by Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), total Fe dissolution and free radical quantification.

Since the widespread use of antibiotics, the residues of antibiotics have frequently been detected in various water sources, making antibiotic pollution an urgent environmental issue. In this paper, one-step green synthetic reduced graphene/manganese nanoparticles (rGO/Mn NPs) composites have been utilized as a novel environmentally-friendly catalyst for tetracycline (TC) removal. The results demonstrated that rGO/Mn NPs exhibit excellent adsorption performance for TC, and can efficiently activate sodium persulfate (PDS) to oxidize and degrade TC.

Lipid peroxidation is a major process that determines the quality of various oil samples during their use and storage, in which the primary products are hydroperoxides (HP'). HP' are very stable compounds at ambient conditions and are harmful to human health. Therefore, the evaluation of the degree of oil oxidation is an excellent tool for ensuring food safety.

Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) in a 3D-printed stainless steel (SS) microchannel microreactor was investigated using Fe@SiO catalysts. The catalysts were prepared by two different techniques: one pot (OP) and autoclave (AC). The mesoporous structure of the two catalysts, Fe@SiO (OP) and Fe@SiO (AC), ensured a large contact area between the reactants and the catalyst.

Mixed-metal nickel-iron, NiFe materials draw attention as affordable earth-abundant electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Here, nickel and mixed-metal nickel-iron metal-organic framework (MOF) composites with the carbon materials ketjenblack (KB) or carbon nanotubes (CNT) were synthesized in situ in a one-pot solvothermal reaction. As a direct comparison to these in situ synthesized composites, the neat MOFs were postsynthetically mixed by grinding with KB or CNT, to generate physical mixture composites.
