, formerly known as , is one member of a group of bacteria referred to as HACEK (, , , , ) organisms. Infections from any of the HACEK organisms typically lead to very poor outcomes and can be difficult to manage, especially when complicated by intracranial hemorrhage (ICH). HACEK organisms can also be difficult to grow on blood cultures, and is rarely seen, if at all. Traditionally, most laboratories follow an extended incubation protocol of 14 to 21 days to aid the growth of HACEK bacteria. Herein we report a case of infective endocarditis where resulted on blood culture in three days, in a patient with a right shoulder abscess, complicated by septic embolization leading to ICH. We explore a potential link between the prompt growth of on blood culture and the presence of the right shoulder abscess.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been associated with numerous complications beyond the respiratory tract, including spinal and joint co-infections and secondary infections. However, we could not locate any reported cases of bilateral shoulder infections with additional spinal infections associated with mild (like our patient) COVID-19 or with more severe cases of COVID-19. We report the case of a healthy 62-year-old male who presented with mild COVID-19 and concurrent methicillin-sensitive (MSSA) bacteremia associated with multiple musculoskeletal sites of deep-seated infection.

Background: Septic arthritis of shoulder is a rare clinical entity as the metaphysis is extracapsular and there is no communication between epiphyseal and metaphyseal vessels. Septic arthritis of the shoulder joint is a diagnostic and surgical emergency because joint destruction develops rapidly and can cause significant morbidity and mortality. Unusual complications of septic arthritis of the shoulder joint may include extra-articular abscess extension to the upper arm through the biceps groove and osteomyelitis of the greater tuberosity.

Background: Melioidosis is one of the emerging infections in India and is often neglected due to lack of awareness among clinicians. The diseases usually present as multifocal or focal abscesses with bacteremia, yet the isolated septic monoarthritic complicated with septic venous thrombosis is a rare presentation.
Case: This case report describes a 48-year-old male business executive with diabetes and alcoholism who developed septic arthritis caused by and no clear history of exposure to the organism.

Background: Sternoclavicular joint arthritis is a rare condition that poses considerable diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, leading to severe complications and a high mortality rate. Although surgical interventions are often considered necessary for advanced cases, some reports have suggested that conservative management with antibiotic therapy can be effective in certain cases. However, to our knowledge, there are no reports of successful conservative treatment in cases exhibiting aggressive spread.
