Hollow ferromagnetic powders of iron were obtained by means of ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. A variation in the conditions of the synthesis allows for the adjustment of the mean size of the hollow iron particles. Iron powders were obtained by this technique, starting from the aqueous solution of iron nitrate of two different concentrations: 10 and 20 wt.%. This was followed by a reduction in hydrogen. An increase in the concentration of the solution increased the mean particle size from 0.6 to 1.0 microns and widened particle size distribution, but still produced hollow particles. Larger particles appeared problematic for the reduction, although admixture of iron oxides did not decrease the microwave permeability of the material. The paraffin wax-based composites filled with obtained powders demonstrated broadband magnetic loss with a complex structure for lesser particles, and single-peak absorption for particles of 1 micron. Potential applications are 5G technology, electromagnetic compatibility designs, and magnetic field sensing.

Metal-organic framework (MOF) derived porous FeO/C powders were applied for absorption of microwaves in the frequency range of 1-18 GHz. The effects of the polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) additive on the synthesis of MIL101-(Fe) precursor were studied by various characterization methods. By adding PVP, the impure hematite phase (α-FeO) with magnetite phase (FeO) was disappeared and the particular morphology was transformed to the porous rod-like, leading to the increase of specific surface area from 150 to 282 m/g.

In this paper, the ball-milled flake FeSiCr alloy is subjected to a vacuum annealing temperature between 300 and 500 °C. The results show that the appropriate heat treatment temperature increases the average grain size of the material, eliminates defects and internal stresses, and improves the complex permeability of the material. The optimum wave-absorbing performance of the material is achieved when the heat treatment temperature is 400 °C with the minimum reflectivity RL reaching -56.

This article is the first to simulate the changes in temperature, porosity, permeability, and displacement of oil shale reservoirs under microwave followed by steam and steam followed by microwave and to analyze the oil shale reservoirs under single steam and microwave in comparison, aiming to find out the most suitable way for in-situ exploitation of oil shale among the four types of heating methods. From the results of COMSOL Multiphysics field software, the average temperatures of the reservoir under 600 W single microwave heating, 650 °C single steam heating, steam followed by microwave heating, and microwave followed by steam heating were 570.15, 528.

The current study aimed to generate a sulfhydryl-modified β-cyclodextrin-silymarin complex (sulfhydryl-modified β-CD-SMN complex) and to evaluate the enchantment in solubility, permeability, and bioavailability of a model BCS Class IV drug silymarin (SMN). For this purpose, sulfhydryl-modified β-CD was synthesized by replacing all primary and secondary -OH groups at the β-CD backbone with sulfhydryl groups via a novel microwave-assisted technique. Afterward, sulfhydryl-modified β-CD was complexed with silymarin and characterized by FTIR and H NMR spectroscopy.
