Liver cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Despite advancement in therapeutic interventions, liver cancer is associated with poor prognosis because of highly lethal characteristics and high recurrence rate. In the present study, the anticancer potential of a plant-based alkaloid namely dehydrocrenatidine has been evaluated in human liver cancer cells. The study findings revealed that dehydrocrenatidine reduced cancer cell viability by arresting cell cycle at G2/M phase and activating mitochondria-mediated and death receptor-mediated apoptotic pathways. Specifically, dehydrocrenatidine significantly increased the expression of extrinsic pathway components (FAS, DR5, FADD, and TRADD) as well as intrinsic pathway components (Bax and Bim L/S) in liver cancer cells. In addition, dehydrocrenatidine significantly increased the cleavage and activation of PARP and caspases 3, 8, and 9. The analysis of upstream signaling pathways revealed that dehydrocrenatidine induced caspase-mediated apoptosis by suppressing the phosphorylation of JNK1/2. Taken together, the study identifies dehydrocrenatidine as a potent anticancer agent that can be use clinically to inhibit the proliferation of human liver cancer cells.

Objectives: To clarify the risk factors affecting prognosis after primary tumor resection (PTR) in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer with synchronous peritoneal metastasis (mCRC-SPM).
Methods: Patients were enrolled prospectively in the JSCCR project "Grading of Peritoneal Seeding in Colorectal Cancer." Factors that may influence overall survival-age, sex, location of the primary tumor, lymph node metastasis, presence of liver metastasis, degree of peritoneal metastasis, peritoneal cancer index (PCI), cancer cure, and postoperative chemotherapy-in the PTR group were examined using multivariate analysis.

We manually delineated three-dimensional tumor volumes, selecting the largest liver metastasis for measurement, using pretreatment portal-phase CT images and extracted 107 radiomics features.

Purpose: To compare the clinical outcomes of different systemic therapies, specifically PD(L)1 inhibitors plus Lenvatinib versus Atezolizumab plus Bevacizumab, when combined with hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) based on the FOLFOX regimen (oxaliplatin, fluorouracil, and leucovorin) as first line treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.
Patients And Methods: This real-world retrospective study enrolled 294 patients with unresectable HCC. All patients received HAIC in combination with either PD(L)1 inhibitors plus Lenvatinib (PLEN-HAIC) or Atezolizumab plus Bevacizumab (AT-HAIC).
