The MIB-1 index was demonstrated to be significantly correlated to meningioma recurrence. However, to date, the relationship of the intraindividual course of the MIB-1 index and the growth fraction, respectively, to clinical tumor recurrence has not been demonstrated in cranial WHO grade 1 and 2 meningiomas. In the present paper, we compare the MIB-1 indices of 16 solely surgically treated primary meningiomas and their recurrent tumors regarding the course of the MIB-1 indices, time to recurrence, reproducibility and factors influencing the intraindividual MIB-1 indices. Regression analyses revealed (1) a strong intra-lab reproducibility ( = 0.88) of the MIB-1 index at the second versus the first operation, corresponding to a constant intrinsic growth activity of an individual meningioma, (2) a significant inverse correlation of both primary ( = -0.51) and secondary ( = -0.70) MIB-1 indices to time to recurrence, and (3) male sex, low plasma fibrinogen and diffuse CD68 macrophage infiltrates contribute to an increase in the MIB-1 index. A strong intraindividual reproducibility of the MIB-1 index and a direct relationship of the MIB-1 index to the time to recurrence were observed. Individual MIB-1 indices might be used for tailored follow-up imaging intervals. Further research on the role of macrophages and inflammatory burden in the regrowth potential of meningiomas are needed.

Background Posttranslational modifications of histone lysine (K) have integral connections with cell metabolism, and participate in the carcinogenesis of various cancers. This study focuses on evaluating the expression of histone H4 lys 5 lactylation (H4K5lac) and its clinical role in breast cancer (BC). Methods During this research, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and immunoblotting, utilizing a specific primary anti-L-lactyl-histone H4 (Lys 5) rabbit monoclonal antibody, were employed to assess H4K5lac expression in BC tissue chips.

Background: The early diagnosis and management of lung adenocarcinoma co-existing with tuberculosis (LAC-TB) presents significant challenges in clinical settings. This is compounded by a paucity of robust clinical evidence elucidating the interactions between these two conditions.
Methods: This study included 14 patients diagnosed with LAC-TB, with an equal distribution among those with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and those with peripheral lymph node TB.

Background: Pituitary adenomas (PAs) are prevalent tumors that often exhibit ischemia, hypoxia, and cystic transformations, impacting their prognosis. The relationship between cystic degeneration in PAs and the expressions of hypoxia-inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α), glucose transporter 1 (GLUT1), and Ki-67 remains unclear. This study aims to analyze the correlation between MRI characteristics of cystic PA and the expression of these proteins.

To reveal the natural correlation between prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) imaging and tumor neovascularization in prostate cancer and further explore E-urea-K-based PSMA-targeted (EK-PSMA) imaging as a potential indicator of tumor neovascularization, the 22Rv1 mouse models were established and underwent Tc-HYNIC-ALUG SPECT/CT. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to assess the relationship between tumor tracer uptake and tumor characteristics, including size, glucose metabolism, and cell phenotypes (e.g.

Background: Breast cancer is a major health concern worldwide, and Ki-67 level index is a prognostic factor that indicates tumor proliferation and predicts survival outcomes. However, the standard Ki 67 cut-off level varies between local laboratories, and in Thailand, there is no established optimal cut-off level.
Objective: This study aimed to determine the optimal cut-off point for Ki-67 expression and investigate the association between Ki-67 levels and other prognostic factors with 8-year overall survival.
