Background: Acinetobacter spp. are a potential life-threatening cause of severe meningitis noted as a nosocomial infection after neurosurgical procedures in patients admitted to neurosurgical ICUs. Community-acquired Acinetobacter meningitis is extremely rare, and only a few cases have been reported in the literature. Case presentation: In this study, we report a patient from Punjab, India, who was infected after a roadside accident in which he developed CSF otorrhea and subsequent meningitis with Acinetobacter lwoffii. The patient was managed with the cephalosporin group of antibiotics as per the sensitivity report. For the first time, we report a rare case report of community-acquired Acinetobacter meningitis from Punjab, India. Conclusions: This case report highlights the potential pathogenicity of Acinetobacter lwoffii and increases concerns that this organism might rapidly evolve into a dreadful antibiotic-resistant community pathogen.

Background: Delta large-channel endoscopy and unilateral biportal endoscopy (UBE) are prominent minimally invasive techniques for treating lumbar spinal stenosis, known for minimal tissue damage, clear visualization, and quick recovery. However, rigorous controlled research comparing these procedures is scarce, necessitating further investigation into their respective complications and long-term effectiveness. This randomized controlled trial aims to compare their perioperative outcomes, focusing on postoperative recovery and complications over time.

Background: Carinal resection and reconstruction are complex surgical procedures often necessitated by tumors or other pathologies involving the tracheobronchial junction. Traditional approaches to these surgeries are highly invasive. The advent of uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) along with the integration of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) offer potential advantages in reducing surgical trauma and improving outcomes.

Background: Wrist synovitis often leads to persistent pain, swelling, and limited mobility, causing significant functional impairment and psychological distress, including anxiety. Although arthroscopic synovectomy can alleviate physical symptoms, whether it also improves anxiety and the causal relationship between synovitis and anxiety remains unclear.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 44 patients diagnosed with wrist synovitis who underwent arthroscopic synovectomy.

Background: Accurate localization of premacular hemorrhages (PMHs) is crucial as treatment strategies vary significantly based on whether the hemorrhage resides within the vitreous gel, subhyaloid space, or beneath the internal limiting membrane (ILM). This report outlines the clinical features, diagnostic findings, and treatment outcomes in a patient diagnosed with a PMH secondary to suspected Valsalva retinopathy.
Methods: This is a retrospective interventional case report.
