Objective: Pericardial effusion and pericarditis are responsible for 3-5% of deaths due to tamponade, fatal arrhythmia and heart failure. Improvement in dialysis methods has allowed the initiation of the treatment at early stages. This study is designed to evaluate the prevalence of pericardial effusion and its predisposing factors among end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients undergoing dialysis.
Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that included patients from the two Medical Centers in (XXX). These patients were presented with ESRD with a GFR <10 cc/min and were under long-term dialysis, also called chronic hemodialysis. The echocardiography was performed and patients with pericarditis and/or pericardial effusion due to non-uremic causes or dialysis were excluded.
Results: Of 132 patients included, mild pericardial effusion was observed in 17(12.9%) patients, 8(6.1%) patients were presented with moderate and 1 (0.7%) had severe pericardial effusion. Among females, 9(15.8%) showed pericardial effusion whereas, it was reported in 8(10.7%) males, with no statistically significant difference. Furthermore, no significant difference was seen in the ages or etiologies of patients with or without pericardial effusion (50.5 ± 15.5 vs 52.8 ± 16.1, respectively).
Conclusion: Our study reports that echocardiography among dialysis patients is likely to determine the effectiveness of the dialysis procedure and can be a cost-effective approach. Futher studies regarding laboratory parameters are required in this area.

Rationale: Posterior urethral valve is a rare disease, prenatal diagnosis and prognosis evaluation are particularly important.
Patient Concerns: A 25-year-old pregnant woman was found enhanced parenchymal echo in both kidneys, subcapsule urinary cyst formation in both kidneys, bladder enlargement of the fetus during prenatal ultrasonography at 25 W + 4 of gestation. It was accompanied by fetal pericardial effusion and oligohydramnios.

Case Presentation: A 63-year-old female presented to our emergency department with altered mental status and hypotension. She was transferred from the outpatient interventional radiology suite after becoming unresponsive during the removal of an inferior vena cava filter. The patient arrived somnolent with no other history available.

Background: Pericardial effusion (PE) indicates the build-up of fluid within the pericardial sac, which encases the heart. The present study was undertaken to assess the clinical profile, etiology of pericardial effusion and to determine the correlation of cardiac tamponade and constrictive pericarditis with etiology.
Methods: A prospective observational hospital based longitudinal study was undertaken among the 88 newly diagnosed and known patients of pericardial effusion who are above 18 years.

Background: Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer mortality and may require high-dose thoracic radiation therapy (RT). However, RT significantly increases the risk of radiation-induced cardiac events, such as pericarditis, cardiomyopathy, and ischemic heart diseases. Despite evidence from clinical trials showing that higher RT doses are associated with poorer survival outcomes due to these cardiac effects, data on dose-volume predictors of such events in lung cancer remain sparse.

Purulent pericarditis is rare condition in the modern era of antibiotics. However, it is a serious condition as it has an accelerated progression and is difficult to diagnose due to its nonspecific clinical presentation, resulting in high mortality. Herein, we present a case in which a 36-year-old male patient with otherwise unremarkable medical history developed abdominal sepsis complicated by purulent pericarditis post-appendectomy.
