Necrophagous blow flies are a commonly used forensic tool to estimate the minimum postmortem interval (PMI), where researchers collect development data under constant temperature regimes and construct models to estimate PMI. However, the ambient temperatures of real death scenes are often fluctuant, which limits the reliability of data obtained under constant temperature regimes. Here we investigate the possible differences in the development of Chrysomya megacephala (Fabricius, 1794) (Diptera: Calliphoridae), an important species in forensic entomology.

Circular RNAs in extracellular vesicles (EV-circRNAs) are gaining recognition as potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of gastric cancer (GC). Most current research is focused on identifying new biomarkers and their functional significance in disease regulation. However, the practical application of EV-circRNAs in the early diagnosis of GC is yet to be thoroughly explored due to the low accuracy of EV-circRNAs analysis.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate how facilitators approach and use nursing students' mistakes in simulation-based training as learning resources in the simulation debriefing phase. Facilitators are responsible for raising students' awareness of their performances during the debriefing and facilitating reflections on their performances, including satisfactory behaviours and performance gaps. Research on facilitators' work during debriefing has highlighted various challenges, such as providing a safe and constructive climate among novice students while simultaneously teaching them the correct procedures, methods, and knowledge of caring practices to become professional nurses.

Background: Statistical shape atlases have been used in large-cohort studies to investigate relationships between heart shape and risk factors. The generalisability of these relationships between cohorts is unknown. The aims of this study were to compare left ventricular (LV) shapes in patients with differing cardiovascular risk factor profiles from two cohorts and to investigate whether LV shape scores generated with respect to a reference cohort can be directly used to study shape differences in another cohort.
