Background: Antibiotic resistant infectious spondylodiscitis (IS) can cause significant morbidity for patients. Open surgical techniques were previously the only option for patients who failed antibiotic therapy. However, advances in minimally invasive surgical techniques may provide a new alternative for some patients.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to identify studies that reported inflammatory [erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP)] and functional outcomes [visual analog scale (VAS)] for patients with antibiotic resistant IS treated with either minimally invasive or open surgery. Searches were preformed using PubMed, Embase, and Scopus from January 2015 to June 2021. Fourteen articles met inclusion criteria. One study was a Level III evidence study and the other 13 included studies were Level IV.
Results: The minimally invasive surgery group showed significantly lower post-operative CRP and VAS pain scores and significantly higher post-operative ESR levels than the open group. All studies included were measured by the Downs and Black tool for potential bias.
Discussion: This study showed that minimally invasive surgery is efficacious in the treatment of antibiotic resistant IS. These outcomes support minimally invasive surgery (MIS) as an effective alternative to previous open surgery techniques in certain patients after failed trails of antibiotic therapy.

Background: Minimally invasive dentistry is now becoming the forefront of restorative dentistry, involving less traumatic treatment protocols, conservation of tooth structure and surrounding tissues, enhancing the long-term survivability of treated teeth, and improving the overall quality of life for patients.
Objective: The current case report was conducted to evaluate acquiring deep subgingival interproximal carious lesions by the mean of thermacut bur gingivectomy, in terms of patient satisfaction through pain evaluation, Bleeding on Probing, Pocket Depth, Crestal Bone Level evaluation, and restoration evaluation using modified USPHS criteria.
Material And Methods: A patient with a deep proximal cavity in the posterior tooth was thoroughly examined and underwent Thermacut Bur Gingivectomy (TBG) after caries removal followed by direct resin composite restoration of the prepared cavity.

Methods: This retrospective case-control study was conducted between January 2016 and December 2023, involving patients with late CSP (≥ 8 weeks) who received local MTX injection combined with either hysteroscopic or laparoscopic surgery. Cesarean scar pregnancy was classified as type I, II, or III based on the direction of growth of the gestational sac and the residual myometrial thickness as assessed by ultrasound.

Digestive and psychiatric disorders tend to co-occur, yet mechanisms remain unclear. Leveraging genetic and transcriptomic data integration, we conduct multi-trait analysis of GWAS (MTAG) and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) to explore shared mechanism between psychiatric and gastrointestinal disorders. Significant genetic correlations were found between these disorders, especially in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), depression (DEP), and neuroticism (NE).

Erythroderma is a severe and heterogeneous inflammatory skin condition with little guidance on the approach to management in cases of unknown etiology. To guide therapeutic selection, we sought to create an immunophenotyping platform able to identify aberrant cell populations and cytokines in subtypes of erythroderma. We performed high-parameter flow cytometry on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and whole blood of a patient with refractory idiopathic erythroderma, erythrodermic patients with Sézary syndrome and pityriasis rubra pilaris, and healthy controls.
