A 38-year-old man presented with embolic occlusion of the brachial artery. As per his computed tomography results, a pedunculated mass in the proximal ascending aorta was detected. Since discrimination between a thrombus and a tumor was deemed difficult, the patient underwent replacement of the ascending aorta. Histopathology revealed the mass to be a thrombus. The diagnosis of antiphospholipid syndrome was then confirmed postoperatively. Six months post-surgery, a new thrombus was detected in the vascular prosthesis. The thrombus resolved after treatment with edoxaban and aspirin. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on graft thrombosis in antiphospholipid syndrome, highlighting the importance of seamless anticoagulation therapy.

Objective: Paravisceral aortic lesions present significant challenges for endovascular treatment. This retrospective analysis of consecutively treated patients from April 2017 to June 2021 aimed to analyse the outcome of primary intra-operative embolisation of aortic complicated pseudoaneurysms and gutter channels during parallel graft (PG) repair of paravisceral symptomatic aortic pseudoaneurysms.
Methods: Patients with symptomatic pseudoaneurysms of the paravisceral aorta treated with PGs using chimney or periscope configurations were included.

Perforation of the duodenum after trauma has a low incidence and its coincidence with BTAI is very rare. The clinical condition of the patient is very important for deciding the treatment priority. In this patient, considering the stable condition and degree of aorta injury, we chose TEVAR before laparotomy.

Background: Coarctation of the aorta (CoA) is a relatively common congenital heart defect. The underlying causes are not known, but a combination of genetic factors and abnormalities linked to embryonic development is suspected. There are only a few studies of the underlying molecular mechanisms in CoA.

Background: Although alloimmunization risk of pathogen-reduced (PR) platelets has been studied, the risk has not been reported with PR red blood cells (RBCs).
Study Design And Methods: In a Phase III, randomized, controlled trial (Red Cell Pathogen Inactivation), cardiac or thoracic-aorta surgery patients were randomized to transfusion with amustaline/glutathione PR versus conventional RBCs. Pre-transfusion and Day 28 samples were evaluated for Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) Class I and Class II antibodies at low, medium, and high cutoff values.
