The fiber-optic extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI) is one of the simplest sensing configurations and is widely used in various applications. Inspired by the EFPI, we report a novel and universal ultra-sensitive microwave sensing platform based on an open-ended hollow coaxial cable resonator. Two highly-reflective microwave reflectors were fabricated in a coaxial cable to form a microwave Fabry-Perot etalon. Although the operating wavelength of the proposed device is increased by five orders of magnitude compared to the fiber-optic EFPI (e.g., from 1500 nm to 150 mm), the resolution regarding the " cavity length" of the proposed device is as high as 0.6 nanometer, which is comparable to that of the EFPI. The resolution can be further increased by high-precision machining of the device. Due to its low cost, high sensitivity, all-metal structure, robustness, and ease of signal demodulation, it is envisioned that the proposed device will revolutionize the sensing field and enable many important sensing applications that take place in harsh environments.

Purpose: Optimizing fracture reduction quality is key to achieve successful osteosynthesis, especially for epimetaphyseal regions such as the proximal humerus (PH), but can be challenging, partly due to the lack of a clear endpoint. We aimed to develop the prototype for a novel intraoperative C-arm-based aid to facilitate true anatomical reduction of fractures of the PH.
Methods: The proposed method designates the reduced endpoint position of fragments by superimposing the outer boundary of the premorbid bone shape on intraoperative C-arm images, taking the mirrored intact contralateral PH from the preoperative CT scan as a surrogate.

A point-of-care testing (POCT) assay based on commercial HCG strip was proposed for miRNA21 detection by integrating RCA-HCR cascaded isothermal amplification with CRISPR/Cas12a. Three modules were integrated in the proposed platform: target amplification module composed of rolling circle amplification (RCA) cascaded with hybridization chain reaction (HCR), signal transduction module composed of CRISPR/Cas12a combined with HCG-agarose gel beads probes, and signal readout module composed of commercial HCG strips. The proposed RCA-HCR-CRISPR/Cas12a-HCG strip assay for miRNA21 detection had high sensitivity, and the limit of detection was as low as 37 fM.

Advances in the semiconductor industry have been limited owing to the constraints imposed by silicon-based CMOS technology; hence, innovative device design approaches are necessary. This study focuses on "more than Moore" approaches, specifically in neuromorphic computing. Although MoS devices have attracted attention as neuromorphic computing candidates, their performances have been limited due to environment-induced perturbations to carrier dynamics and the formation of defect states.

The aim of this study is to address the limitations of convolutional networks in recognizing modulation patterns. These networks are unable to utilize temporal information effectively for feature extraction and modulation pattern recognition, resulting in inefficient modulation pattern recognition. To address this issue, a signal modulation recognition method based on a two-way interactive temporal attention network algorithm has been developed.

The explosion of Internet-of-Thing enables several interconnected devices but also gives rise chance for unauthorized parties to compromise sensitive information through wireless communication systems. Covert communication therefore has emerged as a potential candidate for ensuring data privacy in conjunction with physical layer transmission to render two lines of defense. In this paper, we aim to enhance the individual transmission of nearby users in non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems under scenarios of an eavesdropper who monitors covert transmission before decoding covert information.
