There have been disparities reported in prevalence of autism by gender, race, and socioeconomic status with older ages of diagnosis in non-White and in female children. Possible disparities in the ages of autism diagnosis are not well-established within the Military Health System (MHS) pediatric population, where we hypothesized less disparities given universal Tricare coverage for active-duty military families and theoretically equal access to the military treatment facility (MTF). We conducted retrospective cross-sectional analysis using deidentified database repository records from the MHS.

The introduction of modern Western medicine in the late 19th century, notably through vaccination initiatives, marked the beginning of governmental involvement in medical licensure, with the licensing of doctors who performed vaccinations. The establishment of the national medical school "Euihakkyo" in 1899 further formalized medical education and licensure, granting graduates the privilege to practice medicine without additional examinations. The enactment of the Regulations on Doctors in 1900 by the Joseon government aimed to define doctor qualifications, including modern and traditional practitioners, comprehensively.

Delivered a day after Britain's National Health Service (NHS) reached its 75th year since its opening on the Appointed Day of 5 July 1948, the Pimlott Lecture for 2023 explored the culture of NHS anniversary-making. What can the marking of these anniversaries tell us about changing attitudes towards the service, and indeed, the British state? Here, examining evidence from the media, government archives, and Mass Observation, we argue that NHS anniversaries have long functioned as points of reflection but that their role as moments of national celebration and even communion has come to the fore only recently and culminated in the apparent 'anniversary fever' of 2018. We will explore the reasons behind the growing public fervour, what it can tell us, and the lessons offered by our work on this (still) best-loved of British institutions for historians working on highly politicized objects in 'fevered' times.

This editorial reflects on the significant role of the in the author's career and outlines key changes that demonstrate its evolution. She discusses three key areas she has focused on over the years: the diversity of our journal's contributors and editors (focusing on gender representation), the quality standards of our research (specifically, study sample sizes), and the analytical methodologies we endorse (namely, the use of Bayesian statistics). She compares how the journal fared when she started in 2017 compared to its first year, and the progress the journal has made since 2017.

Background: The Puipui Malu Manatu (PMM) study (RF1AG075904) is determining Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) prevalence by administering cognitive assessment tools and determining prevalence of known genetic and plasma biomarkers. The sampling method uses a cluster and selection process to obtain a randomized sample of 1089 adults that is generalizable to the population. Research hesitancy exists due to historical abuse of non-Indigenous researchers conducting studies that are not reflective of the community health needs.
