A 53-year-old woman with cervical cancer underwent FDG PET/CT staging, which demonstrated an avid cervical mass with right parametrial involvement and presence of bilateral lymph node metastases. The right ureter was encased, resulting in obstruction and renal pelvic dilatation. Avid right renal subcapsular lesions were also noted, which were hyperintense on T2-weighted imaging compatible to encapsulated fluid collections. These lesions were diagnosed as subcapsular urinoma due to transmitted back pressure caused by obstruction of the right ureter.

Spontaneous, non-traumatic bleeding into the subcapsular and perirenal space is a rare and potentially fatal condition known as Wunderlich syndrome (WS). It has a variety of causes including the usage of anticoagulation. Many anticoagulants including warfarin can interact with other medication and lead to potentially fatal complications, Herein, we report a case of a 47 year old female on warfarin who developed subcapsular renal hematoma and retroperitoneal hematoma after the completion of ciprofloxacin treatment course.

In this study, the kidneys of ground squirrels (hibernated and nonhibernated), rabbits, and rats were examined macro and microanatomically. Kidney morphology was investigated by stereo microscopy, light microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Triple and immunohistochemical staining were performed for light microscopic examinations.

Islet transplantation is a promising therapy for diabetes, yet the limited survival and functionality of transplanted islet grafts hinder optimal outcomes. Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), an endogenous hormone, has shown potential to enhance islet survival and function; however, its systemic administration can result in poor localization and undesirable side effects. To address these challenges, we developed a novel peptide-based nanofiber hydrogel incorporating GLP-1 functionality for localized delivery.

Spontaneous subcapsular renal hematoma is a rare condition defined as spontaneous hemorrhage confined to the subcapsular and/or perirenal space. Its etiology can vary, ranging from renal tumors to vascular diseases, renal cysts, or infections. Here, we report the case of a 54-year-old male who presented to the emergency department with a two-day history of abdominal pain and fever.

A 74-year-old woman with no history of trauma visited our hospital with right-sided abdominal pain and general malaise. Blood tests revealed elevated inflammatory markers. A computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a 8 cm mass and subcapsular hematoma on the lower pole side of the right kidney.
