Perovskite-type oxides have impacted various research fields, including materials and energy science. Despite their vast potential in various applications, general and simple synthesis methods for nano-perovskites remain limited. Herein, various nano-perovskites were synthesized by a facile approach involving the use of nanocarbons. The calcination of the nanocarbon deposited with metal salts yielded nano-perovskites, emulating the morphology of nanocarbons. The accumulation of precursors (, metal salts) on the surface of the nanocarbon during the evaporation of the solvent is the key step in which the precursors are homogeneously mixed prior to calcination. The homogeneity of the precursors facilitated low-temperature calcination that resulted in the formation of nano-perovskites. Various nano-perovskites, including LaMnO, LaCoO, LaFeO, LaNiO, LaAlO, LaGaO, CaMnO, BaMnO, SrMnO, LaSrFeO, LaCuO, and CaFeO, were successfully synthesized, demonstrating the simplicity and novelty of the method for the general synthesis of nano-perovskites.

There are hazardous substances such as chloride salts and heavy metals in the municipal solid waste incineration fly ash (WIFA). During thermal treatment, the concentrated chlorides promote the volatilization of heavy metals, increasing the ecological risk. The water washing method is also employed as a pre-treatment for WIFA, but a substantial volume of wastewater with high chloride content is produced that poses challenges for effective treatment.

Calcinosis cutis affects 20-40% of patients with systemic sclerosis. This study tests the hypothesis that calcium-chelating polycarboxylic acids can induce calcium dissolution without skin toxicity or irritancy. We compared citric acid (CA) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) to sodium thiosulfate (STS) for their ability to chelate calcium in vitro using a pharmaceutical dissolution model of calcinosis (hydroxyapatite (HAp) tablet), prior to evaluation of toxicity and irritancy in 2D in vitro skin models.

The controlled formation and stabilization of nanoparticles is of fundamental relevance for materials science and key to many modern technologies. Common synthetic strategies to arrest growth at small sizes and prevent undesired particle agglomeration often rely on the use of organic additives and require non-aqueous media and/or high temperatures, all of which appear critical with respect to production costs, safety, and sustainability. In the present work, we demonstrate a simple one-pot process in water under ambient conditions that can produce particles of various transition metal carbonates and sulfides with sizes of only a few nanometers embedded in a silica shell, similar to particles derived from more elaborate synthesis routes, like the sol-gel process.

As an emerging class of hybrid materials, donor-acceptor (D-A) hybrid crystals with photoactive organic and inorganic components have gradually become an ideal platform for photochromic materials. Wherein the most available organic components are electron-poor naphthalenediimide, pyridinium, and triazine derivatives, inorganic units are electron-rich polyoxometalates and metal halides. Herein, we introduced pyridinium moieties into the naphthalenediimide core by conjugated bonds so as to increase the electron deficiency of organic species for enhanced photochromic properties.

Objective: To compare the effects of titanium-prepared platelet-rich fibrin (T-PRF) and leukocyte platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) on osteoblasts.
Methods: Venous blood samples were collected from ten volunteer patients to obtain T-PRF and L-PRF. The T-PRF group was labelled as Group T, the L-PRF group as Group L, and the control group, which includes only osteoblasts, was Group K.
