A series of -benzoylanthranilamide derivatives have been synthesized with the substitution of competitive HB acceptors and investigated by NMR spectroscopy and single crystal XRD. The interesting rivalry for HB acceptance between [double bond splayed left]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O and X (F or OMe) is observed in the investigated molecules which leads to an unusual increase in the electron density at the site of one of the NH protons, reflecting in the high field resonance in the H NMR spectrum. The NMR experimental findings and single crystal XRD are further reinforced by the DFT studies.

Review of honeycomb-based Kitaev materials with zigzag magnetic ordering.

The search for a Kitaev quantum spin liquid in crystalline magnetic materials has fueled intense interest in the two-dimensional honeycomb systems. Many promising candidate Kitaev systems are characterized by a long-range-ordered magnetic structure with an antiferromagnetic zigzag-type order, where the static moments form alternating ferromagnetic chains. Recent experiments on high-quality single crystals uncovered the existence of intriguing multi-k magnetic structures, which evolved from zigzag structures.

The aqueous zinc metal battery holds great potential for large-scale energy storage due to its safety, low cost, and high theoretical capacity. However, challenges such as corrosion and dendritic growth necessitate controlled zinc deposition. This study employs epitaxy to achieve large-area, dense, and ultraflat zinc plating on textured copper foil.

Spontaneous Formation of Single-Crystalline Spherulites in a Chiral 2D Hybrid Perovskite.

In two-dimensional (2D) chiral metal-halide perovskites (MHPs), chiral organic spacers induce structural chirality and chiroptical properties in the metal-halide sublattice. This structural chirality enables reversible crystalline-glass phase transitions in (-NEA)PbBr, a prototypical chiral 2D MHP where NEA represents 1-(1-naphthyl)ethylammonium. Here, we investigate two distinct spherulite states of (-NEA)PbBr, exhibiting either radial-like or stripe-like banded patterns depending on the annealing conditions of the amorphous film.

A 1D coordination compound made of a photochromic dithienylethene linker and [Dy(Tp2-py)F]+ units (with Tp2-py = tris(3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazolyl)hydroborate) and having tetrakis[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]borate counterions is reported. Full photoconversion from the closed isomer to the open isomer of the dithienyethene within single crystals allow for monitoring of the transformation by photocrystallography. Magnetic slow relaxation as well as magnetic hysteresis are observed and can be both modulated upon light irradiation.

A series of compositions NiInSn ( = 0-1) were synthesized by conventional high-temperature synthesis, and as-synthesized samples were checked by powder X-ray diffraction experiments. NiInSn ( < 0.7) mainly forms the ternary variant of the CoSn-type structure (6/), whereas, = 0.
