Although direct acetoxylation and cyclization of alkylamide have been extensively reported, investigation of the structural influence of directing groups on selectivity is limited. Pd-catalyzed 2-methoxyiminoacyl (MIA) assisted γ-acetoxylation of alkylamides has been developed. Further DFT studies have demonstrated that the directing groups have a significant influence on the reductive elimination step. The strong electron-donating effect of the OMe group in MIA leads to the preferential formation of a five-membered cyclopalladium (OAc-Pd-C) complex, which favors the acetoxylation pathway.

Metabolic profiling continues to develop, and research is now conducted on this topic globally in hundreds of laboratories, from small groups up to national centers and core facilities. Here we briefly provide a perspective on the current status and challenges facing metabolic phenotyping (metabonomics/metabolomics) and consider future directions for this important area of biomarker and systems biology research.

It is under debate whether intersubjectivity-the capacity to experience a sense of togetherness around an action-is unique to humans. In humans, heavy tickling-a repeated body probing play that causes an automatic response including uncontrollable laughter (gargalesis)-has been linked to the emergence of intersubjectivity as it is aimed at making others laugh (self-generated responses are inhibited), it is often asymmetrical (older to younger subjects), and it elicits agent-dependent responses (pleasant/unpleasant depending on social bond). Intraspecific tickling and the related gargalesis response have been reported in humans, chimpanzees, and anecdotally in other great apes, potentially setting the line between hominids and other anthropoids.

We present a directed electrostatics strategy integrated as a graph neural network (DESIGNN) approach for predicting stable nanocluster structures on their potential energy surfaces (PESs). The DESIGNN approach is a graph neural network (GNN)-based model for building structures of large atomic clusters with specific sizes and point-group symmetry. This model assists in the structure building of atomic metal clusters by predicting molecular electrostatic potential (MESP) topography minima on their structural evolution paths.

Objective: To compare direct, non-medical out-of-pocket expenditures (OOPE) between mothers receiving Alberta Family Integrated Care (FICare™) versus standard care (SC) during their infant's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) admission and explore factors influencing spending extremes.
Methods: In this exploratory, concurrent mixed-methods sub-study, we compared mother-reported OOPE from Alberta FICare™ and SC parent journals. We thematically analyzed hand-written notes from 30 journals with the highest and lowest 5 % of OOPE.
