Background: The benefits of preparing the dorsal dartos flap before urethroplasty were investigated.

Materials And Methods: Patients with coronal, subcoronal, and distal penile hypopadias without severe cordee who underwent surgical repair between October 2016 and September 2020 were included in the study. Tubularized incised plate urethroplasty technique was applied to all patients. The patients were divided into two groups: In Group 1, the dorsal dartos flap was prepared after urethroplasty, which is the commonly used technique today, and sutured on the neourethra. In Group 2, the dorsal dartos flap was prepared before the post-degloving urethroplasty. The amount of bleeding, the duration of the surgery, and the complications between the two groups were recorded and compared.

Results: Twenty-two patients who could be followed up for at least 3 months were examined. There were 10 patients in Group 1 and 12 patients in Group 2. A statistically significant difference was found between the amount of bleeding of the operation in the two groups. Duration of operation, hematoma, infection, skin necrosis, or glanular dehiscence were not observed in any patient.

Conclusions: Preparing the dorsal dartos flap, before urethroplasty significantly reduces the amount of bleeding. This may be a new modification alternative in hypospadias surgery.

Clitoral hypertrophy is a condition that has a negative impact on a womans intimate life and can cause embarrassment and impact on her sexual life. The article describes a surgical technique of clitoroplasty performed with a 360° circumferential subcoronal incision only in the skin and Dartos tunica to avoid neuronal damage, followed by degloving to the base of the clitoris, preserving the dorsal neurovascular bundle. The body of the clitoris was amputated, preserving 0.

Article Synopsis
  • * The study aims to compare the mRNA expression of specific proteins involved in hypospadias development between the ventral and dorsal tunica dartos in children diagnosed with hypospadias and chordee.
  • * Currently in the protocol development stage, the study's results are anticipated by the end of 2024 and aim to improve understanding of the condition's underlying mechanisms.

Purpose: The concept of interposing double dorsal preputial flaps to cover the urethroplasty was introduced in 2005 to reduce the risk of urethrocutaneous fistula (UCF). Our study aims to compare the postoperative outcomes of urethroplasty for distal hypospadias between two groups: one receiving single preputial flap coverage and another receiving double flap coverage.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis study of boys with primary distal hypospadias who underwent surgery by the same experienced surgeon, at our department between 2010 and 2021.

Objective: Penile torsion is a counterclockwise rotational anomaly of the penile shaft or glans. We aimed to evaluate the results of dorsal dartos flap rotation technique in children with isolated penile torsion.

Materials And Methods: 5470 boys who applied to our clinic between 2012 and 2022 for circumcision were evaluated for congenital isolated penile torsion.
