Three Japanese adolescents with chronic hepatitis C were treated by direct-acting antivirals (DAAs). No adverse events or laboratory abnormalities were observed during and after DAA therapy, and a sustained virological response was achieved in all cases. The emotional functioning of the patients and their mothers were improved after DAA therapy.

This study explores the adaptation of a Positive Youth Development (PYD) programme for the Indigenous Quichua community in Guangaje, Ecuador, which faces chronic poverty and low educational attainment. In May, June 2023 we conducted focus groups with school teachers and indigenous community leaders, parents and middle school, high school and college students. We found a disconnect between students' aspirations for higher education and adults' emphasis on practical and vocational training.

Study Objective: Adolescents and young adults (AYA) with chronic medical conditions (CMC) have similar sexual behaviors to their healthy peers but are less likely to use contraception. Provision of CMC-specific sexual and reproductive health (SRH) care within pediatric subspecialty clinics may improve access for this population, although system and provider level barriers exist. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to assess the attitudes, practices, and knowledge of SRH among providers in a variety of pediatric subspecialities.
