. A classifier based on weighted voting of multiple single-lead based models combining deep learning (DL) representation and hand-crafted features was developed to classify 26 cardiac abnormalities from different lead subsets of short-term electrocardiograms (ECG).. A two-stage method was proposed for the multilead prediction. First a lead-agnostic hybrid classifier was trained to predict the pathologies from single-lead ECG signals. The classifier combined fully automated DL features extracted through a convolutional neural network with hand-crafted features through a fully connected layer. Second, a voting of the single-lead based predictions was performed. For the 12-lead subset, voting consisted in an optimised weighting of the output probabilities of all available single lead predictions. For other lead subsets, voting simply consisted in the average of the lead predictions.. This approach achieved a challenge test score of 0.48, 0.47, 0.46, 0.46, 0.45 on the 12, 6, 4, 3, 2-lead subsets respectively on the 2021 Physionet/Computing in Cardiology challenge hidden test set. The use of an hybrid approach and more advanced voting layer improved some individual class classification but did not offer better generalization than our baseline fully DL approach.. The proposed approach showed potential at correctly classifying main cardiac abnormalities and dealt well with reduced lead subsets.

Hypertension, a globally prevalent condition, is closely associated with T cell-mediated inflammatory responses. Studies have shown that T cells, by secreting pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), Interleukin-17 (IL-17), and Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), directly lead to vascular dysfunction and elevated blood pressure. The activation of Th1 and Th17 cell subsets, along with the dysfunction of regulatory T cells (Tregs), is a critical mechanism in the onset and progression of hypertension.

Recent advances have highlighted the crucial role of metabolic reprogramming in shaping the functions of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), which are vital for tissue immunity and homeostasis. As tissue-resident cells, ILCs dynamically respond to local environmental cues, with tissue-derived metabolites such as short-chain fatty acids and amino acids directly modulating their effector functions. The metabolic states of ILC subsets-ILC1, ILC2, and ILC3-are closely linked to their ability to produce cytokines, sustain survival, and drive proliferation.

Introduction: Profilin 2 (PFN2) is an actin binding protein highly expressed in the brain that participates in actin dynamics. It has been shown in vitro and in vivo that in neurons it functions both post-synaptically to shape and maintain dendritic arborizations and spine density and plasticity, as well as pre-synaptically to regulate vesicle exocytosis. PFN2 was also found in protein complexes with proteins that have been implicated in or are causative of autism spectrum disorder.

Accurate diagnosis of both age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and inherited retinal diseases (IRD) with macular atrophy is important because treatments for both conditions are emerging. Phenotypical similarities between macular atrophy associated with AMD (geographic atrophy, GA) and IRD-associated atrophy exist, which can make accurate diagnosis challenging in clinical practice. Misdiagnosis may lead to inappropriate treatment strategies and missed opportunities for disease-specific interventions.
