This study examined the validity and compared the precision and accuracy of a distance-time linear model (DTLM), a power law and a nomogram to predict the distance running performances of female runners. Official rankings of French women ("senior" category: between 23 and 39 years old) for the 3000-m, 5000-m, and 10,000-m track-running events from 2005 to 2019 were examined. Performances of runners who competed in the three distances during the same year were noted (n=158). Mean values and standard deviation (SD) of actual performances were 11.28±1.33, 19.49±2.34 and 41.03±5.12 for the 3000-m, 5000-m, and 10,000-m respectively. Each performance was predicted from two other performances. Between the actual and predicted performances, only DTLM showed a difference (0.05). The magnitude of the differences in these predicted performances was small if not trivial. All predicted performances were significantly correlated with the actual ones, with a very high correlation coefficient (0.001; 0.90), except for DTLM in the 3000-m, which showed a high correlation coefficient (0.001; >0.895). Bias and 95% limits of agreement were acceptable because, whatever the method, they were≤-3.7±10.8% on the 3000-m, 1.4±4.3% on the 5000-m, and -2.5±7.4% on the 10,000-m. The study confirms the validity of the three methods to predict track-running performance and suggests that the most accurate and precise model was the nomogram followed by the power law, with the DTLM being the least accurate.

Background: The armamentarium of medical therapies to treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) continues to grow, which has expanded treatment options, particularly after first biologic failure. Currently, there are limited studies investigating the predictive value of first biologic primary non-response (PNR) on subsequent biologic success. Our objective was to determine if PNR to the first biologic for IBD is predictive of response to subsequent biologic therapy.

Psoriasis is a long-lasting inflammatory skin condition characterized by excessive keratinocyte growth. Recent studies have confirmed abnormal regulation of microRNAs (miRNAs/miRs) in individuals with psoriasis. This study aimed to investigate the function and specific mechanism of action of miR-128a-3p in interleukin-22 (IL-22)-stimulated HaCaT cells.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze the predictive value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte count to monocyte count ratio (LMR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), platelet count multiplied by neutrophil count to lymphocyte count ratio (SII), red blood cell distribution width (RDW), packed cell volume (PCV), and plateletcrit (PCT) levels in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients treated with PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors.

Materials And Methods: From March 2019 to August 2023, we screened 104 of 153 patients with stage III unresectable local advanced NSCLC and IV NSCLC who received PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor therapy at our hospital and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria for analysis. All patients were collected for clinical information, including baseline blood indicator (NLR, PLR, LMR, SII, CRP, RDW, PCV and PCT) levels before PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor therapy and blood indicator levels and imaging evaluation results every two cycles after PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor therapy.

We have adopted the classification Read-Across Structure-Activity Relationship (c-RASAR) approach in the present study for machine-learning (ML)-based model development from a recently reported curated dataset of nephrotoxicity potential of orally active drugs. We initially developed ML models using nine different algorithms separately on topological descriptors (referred to as simply "descriptors" in the subsequent sections of the manuscript) and MACCS fingerprints (referred to as "fingerprints" in the subsequent sections of the manuscript), thus generating 18 different ML QSAR models. Using the chemical spaces defined by the modeling descriptors and fingerprints, the similarity and error-based RASAR descriptors were computed, and the most discriminating RASAR descriptors were used to develop another set of 18 different ML c-RASAR models.

Climate change significantly impacts the risk of eutrophication and, consequently, chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) concentrations. Understanding the impact of water flows is a crucial first step in developing insights into future patterns of change and associated risks. In this study, the Statistical DownScaling Model (SDSM)-a widely used daily downscaling method-is implemented to produce downscaled local climate variables, which serve as input for simulating future hydro-climate conditions using a hydrological model.
