Mischocyttarus tapuya was originally described from a single male specimen collected in a forest near Belm, state of Par, Brazil, in the year of 1893, and had never been found again. We recently collected a colony of this species in an urban forest locality near Belm, and here describe the previously unknown female, mature larva, and nest of this social wasp.

Bagrada bug, (Burmeister) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is an invasive pest of cole crops in the United States. Because it also feeds on widespread weeds and persists in natural habitats surrounding crop fields, conventional control strategies are often ineffective at providing long-term control. One egg parasitoid, Talamas (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae), is a promising biological control candidate because of its ability to parasitise buried eggs.

Zethus Fabricius is the largest genus within Vespidae with nearly 300 species. The genus has a central role on discussion of social evolution, once some species share behavioral features between solitary and social representatives of vespids and the genus has been recovered as phylogenetically closer to social wasps than to other Eumeninae. The Zethus olmecus species group is even more remarkable since there are observations of communal nesting behavior, a fact misused as support for the hypothesis of closer relationship to social wasps.
