A spray deposition procedure for the fabrication of polycrystalline MAPbBr thick films (20-100 μm) is developed and highly efficient (>5.5% under AM1.5 sunlight) hole-transport-material free perovskite solar cells are successfully made with 40 μm thick MAPbBr films.

The single crystal distinguishes itself as the most outstanding representative of excellent optoelectronic performance among perovskite semiconductors due to its exceptional charge carrier properties, extraordinary optophysics, precise structural geometries, and superior material stabilities. However, it exhibits mediocre performance in light emission, which can be attributed to its excessive carrier diffusion lengths and extremely low recombination rates. To address this challenge, this study puts forward a controllable high-temperature annealing treatment strategy concentrating on multimillimeter-scale MAPbBr micrometer-thick platelet single crystals (MPSCs).

Semiconductor photodetectors can work only in specific material-dependent light wavelength ranges, connected with the bandgaps and absorption capabilities of the utilized semiconductors. This limitation has driven the development of hybrid devices that exceed the capabilities of individual materials. In this study, for the first time, a hybrid heterojunction photodetector based on methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr) polycrystalline film deposited on gallium arsenide (GaAs) was presented, along with comprehensive morphological, structural, optical, and photoelectrical investigations.

We utilize room-temperature uniaxial pressing at applied loads achievable with low-cost, laboratory-scale presses to fabricate freestanding CHNHPbX (X = Br, Cl) polycrystalline ceramics with millimeter thicknesses and optical transparency up to ∼70% in the infrared. As-fabricated perovskite ceramics can be produced with desirable form factors (i.e.

Organometallic halide perovskites have garnered significant attention in various fields of material science, particularly solar energy conversion, due to their desirable optoelectronic properties and compatibility with scalable fabrication techniques. It is often unclear, however, how carrier generation and transport within complex polycrystalline films are influenced by variations in local structure. Elucidating how distinct structural motifs within these heterogeneous systems affect behavior could help guide the continued improvement of perovskite-based solar cells.
