Objective: Caregivers play crucial roles in cancer treatment and outcomes. However, little is known regarding how caregivers support patients during cancer clinical trials. The aim of this study was to gain insight into the caregiver experience of rural and urban patients enrolled in cancer clinical trials.

Species' future distributions are commonly predicted using models that link the likelihood of occurrence of individuals to the environment. Although animals' movements are influenced by physical and non-physical landscapes, for example related to individual experiences such as space familiarity or previous encounters with conspecifics, species distribution models developed from observations of unknown individuals cannot integrate these latter variables, turning them into 'invisible landscapes'. In this theoretical study, we address how overlooking 'invisible landscapes' impacts the estimation of habitat selection and thereby the projection of future distributions.

Street-connected young people (SCYP) in Tanzania face intersecting challenges, including economic vulnerability, social marginalisation and limited access to supportive networks. This study examines the impact of the Youth Association (YA) model, implemented by Railway Children Africa, and does so through the lens of the relational well-being approach, which emphasises the interplay of material, relational and subjective dimensions of well-being, as well as personal, societal and environmental drivers of well-being. Using a mixed methods design, this study tracked 116 SCYP in Mwanza and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, through four stages of the YA model.

An MRI-guided stereotactic neurosurgical robotic system for semi-enclosed head coils.

J Robot Surg

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) offers high-quality soft tissue imaging without radiation exposure, which allows stereotactic techniques to significantly improve outcomes in cranial surgeries, particularly in deep brain stimulation (DBS) procedures. However, conventional stereotactic neurosurgeries often rely on mechanical stereotactic head frames and preoperative imaging, leading to suboptimal results due to the invisibility and the contact with patient's head, which may cause additional harm. This paper presents a frameless, MRI-guided stereotactic neurosurgical robotic system.

Department of Electrical and Computer Eng., Worcester Polytechnic Inst., Worcester, MA, USA; Department of Mathematical Sciences, Worcester Polytechnic Inst., Worcester, MA, USA.

Background: Modeling brain stimulation at the microscopic scale may reveal new paradigms for various stimulation modalities.

Objective: We present the largest map to date of extracellular electric field distributions within a layer L2/L3 mouse primary visual cortex brain sample. This was enabled by the automated analysis of serial section electron microscopy images with improved handling of image defects, covering a volume of 250 × 140 × 90 μm³.
