In this study, long-term and continuous monitoring of atmospheric radon concentration, temperature, air pressure, and humidity was conducted at China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The impacts of temperature, humidity, and air pressure on radon concentration in the experimental environment were specifically examined, along with the potential interactions among these factors. Moreover, Radon data were denoised using Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) to reveal factors that might influence changes in radon concentration.

Old thoracolumbar fracture with kyphosis (OTLFK) often results in low back pain, with intervertebral disc degeneration being a significant contributor. We hypothesized that patients with OTLFK exhibit distinct patterns of disc degeneration compared to those with chronic low back pain without kyphotic deformity. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of disc degeneration in OTLFK patients and explore its association with sagittal spinal parameters and endplate injury.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a potentially fatal vascular inflammatory disease characterized by infiltration of various inflammatory cells. The GABA-A receptor is expressed in many inflammatory cells such as macrophages and T cells and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Therefore, the GABA-A receptor may become a potential therapeutic target for abdominal aortic aneurysms.

The study of cell mechanics was significant for understanding cellular physiological functions, the mechanisms of disease occurrence, and the development of novel therapeutic approaches. However, research on the mechanism of mechanical strain action at the single-cell level was relatively lacking. Herein, we developed a serpentine stretchable sensor array capable of exerting precise mechanical strain on cells and monitoring extracellular pH (pHe) changes at single cell level.

Improving lignocellulose degradation and organic matter conversion in agricultural and livestock wastes remains a great challenge. Here, the contribution of humic acid (HA) to lignocellulose degradation was investigated, focusing on the abundance of key microbial species and carbohydrate-active enzymes during aerobic composting. The results demonstrated that the addition of HA not only increased the complexity of the microbial network, but also enhanced the positive interaction between microorganism.
