We report a copper-catalyzed strategy for arylboronic ester synthesis that exploits photoinduced ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) to convert (hetero)aryl acids into aryl radicals amenable to ambient-temperature borylation. This near-UV process occurs under mild conditions, requires no prefunctionalization of the native acid, and operates broadly across diverse aryl, heteroaryl, and pharmaceutical substrates. We also report a one-pot procedure for decarboxylative cross-coupling that merges catalytic LMCT borylation and palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura arylation, vinylation, or alkylation with organobromides to access a range of value-added products. The utility of these protocols is highlighted through the development of a heteroselective double-decarboxylative C(sp)-C(sp) coupling sequence, pairing copper-catalyzed LMCT borylation and halogenation processes of two distinct acids (including pharmaceutical substrates) with subsequent Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling.

A pyridine-fused triazapentalene shows weak fluorescence in solution and is readily accessible via nitrene-mediated cyclization. In this study, a modified Cadogan reaction was used to synthesize . Palladium-catalyzed reactions have been used as post-functionalization methods.

General procedures for the rhodium-catalyzed annulation of aryl/heteroaryl -pivaloyl hydroxamic acids and norbornadiene have been developed. Employing norbornadiene as an acetylene equivalent enables utilization of diverse heterocyclic substrates for this transformation which fail to react or undergo competitive Lossen rearrangement under previously reported conditions. Microwave heating significantly reduces reaction times compared to conventional protocols and allows a one-step process to be realized.

This manuscript describes a strategy to readily access diverse aryl and homoaryl alanine-containing pharmaceutically relevant macrocyclic peptides. A two-step sequence involving the late-stage installation of the pyridinium functionality on macrocyclic peptides followed by reductive couplings was implemented. These transformations are amenable to microscale high-throughput experimentation (HTE) and enable rapid access to aryl alanine-containing macrocyclic peptides that would otherwise be inaccessible solid-phase peptide synthesis using commercially available amino acids.

Organocatalytic SuFEx click reactions of SOF.

Org Biomol Chem

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering/State Key Laboratory Incubation Base for Green Processing of Chemical Engineering, Shihezi University, Shihezi 832003, P. R. China.

An organocatalytic method for the SuFEx click reaction of gaseous SOF is described. Different organic bases such as DBU, TBD, triethylamine and Hünig's base can efficiently catalyze the SuFEx of SOF with various phenols to produce aryl fluorosulfates in 61-97% yields. Under the same conditions, pyridone, pyrazolone and amines can also react with SOF to afford the corresponding heteroaryl fluorosulfates or sulfamoyl fluorides in good yields.
