Background: While a number of recent anti-amyloid antibodies demonstrated a robust reduction of amyloid biomarkers in clinical trials, the impact on functional improvement is much more variable. We hypothesize that this larger variability is driven by comedications, common genotype variants and underlying tau pathology.
Method: In a previously calibrated computational neuroscience model of ADAS-Cog, we implemented the effect of soluble amyloid monomers and oligomers on glutamate and nicotinic AChR neurotransmission and the effect of intracellular tau oligomers on voltage-gated Na and K+ channels and synaptic density.

Polylactic acid (PLA) microplastics (MPs) and lead (Pb) co-contamination, an emerging co-contamination, may profoundly impact plant growth. We aimed to evaluate the effects of PLA-MPs and Pb on buckwheat growth and physiology and to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms through an integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic approach. PLA-MPs alone reduced buckwheat biomass by 26.

This mini-review explores the potential of precision medicine and personalized nutrition in addressing health challenges faced by perimenopausal women, focusing on the role of genetic polymorphisms in key metabolic pathways. Specifically focus on the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the COMT, FUT2, and MTHFR genes, which influence neurotransmitter metabolism, gut microbiota composition, and folate homeostasis, respectively. These polymorphisms are critical in modulating hormonal fluctuations, metabolic imbalances, and nutrient absorption during perimenopause.
