Postoperative disorders of consciousness can arise from various factors, making diagnosis challenging. This report presents a case of a disorder of consciousness that occurred after awakening from general anesthesia, in which various examinations including computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were conducted, but the cause could not be identified. Background: Substance usage is a growing concern among tribal communities in the southern region of Kerala, as it is associated with various social, health, and economic problems. alcohol being the most commonly abused substance. This is particularly true in Southern Kerala, where the prevalence of alcohol abuse among tribal communities is estimated to be between 20% and 30%.

Since 2022, mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) has emerged as a sexually-associated infection that disproportionately impacts gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). Fortunately, the JYNNEOS vaccine, which was initially developed for smallpox, has demonstrated significant efficacy against mpox and was distributed across the United States. In January 2024, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that Rhode Island ranked first among the 50 states for rates of full vaccination coverage (two doses) against mpox among people at increased risk including GBMSM, and second among the 50 states for rates of partial vaccination (single dose).

This is my personal experience of being a lesbian living on the land. What is unusual in my story is that I've been doing this for fifty-four years and that I had the good fortune of settling on the north coast of California in a community of gay friendly, progressive back-to-the-landers. Those early years of the 70's were times of exploration.
